When the album came out in 1986 Avi Matos’ album “Lokeach Et Hayom Le’at (taking the day slowly) was the first ever reggae and dub album to be made in Israel. Needless to say it was way ahead of its time. Back then, the production has been a milestone and brought together some of Israel’s best musicians at the time.

⫸⫸⫸ Born and raised in west Africa, with his childhood being shaped in Ghana, Nigeria and the Ivory Coast KWASI soaked and absorbed all the colorful sights and sound the continent had to offer. There and then he got addicted to rhythms, chants and bass. A trained musician and sound engineer, music industry mogul, label founder, record shop owner has contributed the first mix on our new series.
