ℹ️ | Bay 6 Recordings return with Still Here / Down With U, the latest release by producer Option. Hailing from Maui, Hawaii; Option's silky take on drum & bass has landed him releases on labels such as Detached Audio and Calibrate Records. With Still Here / Down With U, he drafts in Newport-based MC Fernquest, delivering a vocal and instrumental track with an untroubled vibe.

'Still Here' is a tranquil drum & bass cut. Serene pad arrangements and soulful vocal samples make up the intro, with rising drum programming entering the mix as the track progresses. Eventually, the tune unfurls. Melodies blend into one another like a light show in the gentle rain, while motion-blur percussion drives things forward.

Gliding atop the sonic palette is Welsh MC, Fernquest. He reminds the listeners to stay grounded in the face of adversity, taking stock in his journey so far and extolls the virtues of a carefree life. As Fernquest's vocal departs the mix, 'Still Here' moves into chill-out territory, a deep sax riff ringing out over the rhythm section.

'Down With U' is the single's second track. Here, rolling percussion makes up the bulk of the mix while muted chords play out in the background. As the tune unfolds, melodies phase in and out of the mix.

ℹ️ | Bay 6 Recordings present the fourth edition of their compilation series Back to Bay 6, Vol.4. Much like the  previous records, the label aims to introduce fresh talent alongside their existent roster. Artists such as  Artsea, Beeson, Natus, and vocalist Aleya Mae contribute tracks alongside long-standing Bay 6 artists like  Colossus and Fearbace, as well as recent signees Option and AUDBL. The result is a rich take on drum &  bass, where artists are given the freedom to build upon the foundations of the genre.

Artsea's 'Summer's End' opens the record. Serenity is the atmosphere here, as the track leads with a gentle  piano riff. Modulated pads and driving percussion play out in the background, recalling the rise and fall of  waves crashing against the rocks. 

Colossus and Aleya Mae contribute 'Flight Patterns'. Technical drum programming, spherical synth  patterns and deep bass lines create a stirring base from which Aleya Mae delivers a soaring vocal full of extended harmonies. Texturally, the track is detailed, a dense combination of sounds designed to evoke  the deepest feelings. 

Elsewhere, AUDBL's 'Night’s Embrace' features undulating motifs and finely layered melody work lower in  the mix; Beeson's 'Cindy Stop It' is a minimal symphony defined by a gripping intro, and 'Find My Way' sees  Fearbace and Natus deliver a poignant take on drum & bass. 

Option's 'Prying Eyes' closes out the record. Perhaps the most club-ready track on the compilation, it's skittering drums take hold on the brain like a liquid symbiote, while nimble melodies and cavernous bass add the decoration.

Technical drum programming, spherical synth  patterns and deep bass lines create a stirring base from which Aleya Mae delivers a soaring vocal full of extended harmonies. Texturally, the track is detailed, a dense combination of sounds designed to evoke  the deepest feelings. 

Elsewhere, AUDBL's 'Night’s Embrace' features undulating motifs and finely layered melody work lower in  the mix; Beeson's 'Cindy Stop It' is a minimal symphony defined by a gripping intro, and 'Find My Way' sees  Fearbace and Natus deliver a poignant take on drum & bass. 

Option's 'Prying Eyes' closes out the record. Perhaps the most club-ready track on the compilation, it's skittering drums take hold on the brain like a liquid symbiote, while nimble melodies and cavernous bass add the decoration.
