Celebrating 2 years since meeting the New Moon Dance Party and Symposium Records crews and the first night of my BBB residency, I closed out the night after sublime sets by Andy Anello and Joe Tagessian with an eclectic, fast-paced (mostly) vinyl mix of underground party tunes.

This DJ mix is from the second annual ambient night on 12-06-25 of my monthly residency for New Moon Dance Party in New England, US. The mix includes elements and layers of more meditative tracks by some of my favorite electronic artists over the past 30 years. Also in the mix is a baye tune as well as an acapella of an icaro by ayahuasquero and fellow musician Sinchi Pablo. In addition, elements from an instrumental piece from my work with Trade Secrets are layered with a classic electronic tune by Telefon Tel Aviv, and the set closes with a Trade Secrets remix of Synesthete.

Providance 1011FM DJ Mix [9-4-20]

baye is Michael Venezia, a musician, DJ and producer who creates electrorganic music. 

A product of the rave and industrial scenes of 90’s NYC, as a teen Michael cut his teeth with programming and synthesis work in cult industrial rock band The Aggression. As 4th level he released blistering techno 12”’s on UK imprint Auk Recordings, started post-rock instrumental band In Loving Memory as an outlet for guitar-focused music, and added electronic sizzle to bohemian freak out unit The=Equation.

Michael has released techno, house and bass tracks and remixes under the baye moniker on Serotonin sublabel Losers With Attitude, Street King Records, Serrel Sweet Recordings, Klangpunkt and Unexpected Audio Productions. He has also been a key member of the synth pop collective Trade Secrets. Michael is also the bassist in indie rock trio I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying. 

Michael is currently working to further develop ideas for compositions and mixes exploring the integration of analog hardware and DSP, of traditional instrumentation into electronic music, and to better understand the dialectical experiences of the archaic and the futuristic, and of the light and darkness, that mark the human condition.
