On this broadcast of Not Thinking Straight we chat with Eloise fromThe Gender Centre in Sydney. (This week is Part One and next week will be Part two.) Our regular Book Review with Hendri Yulius from The Bookshop in Darlinghurst discusses two non-fiction works - Michel Foucault's "History of Sexuality: Confessions of the Flesh" and Tony Silva's "Still Straight" and one controversial fiction work -  Torrey Peters's "Detransgender Baby," which took our the Women's Fiction Prize, the first time a Transgender person has won. We meet Billie Tallmadge, an activist icon, in our regular series "Making Gay History " and in our final segment in the "I'm from Driftwood" project you will hear the story of an actor who is asked the question, "Could you be a little less Gay?" What will his response be?! You'll have to stay tuned to find out!

Sydney artist Huck Hastings, who will be our special guest next week, previews his beautifully mournful song about love, addiction and co-dependance within a Gay relationship entitled "The Clincher"...it is quite extraordinary. We also play the new songs by LP -another favourite-Entitled "One Last Time and "How Low can you Go?.

Untangling the Yarn is a new audio documentary series highlighting the personal stories of people living with dementia and other memory loss conditions, airing on Bay FM 99.9 and bayfm.org on Wednesday mornings from 10am AEST. One in 12 Australians over the age of 65 are living with some form of dementia, and the primary goal of this series is to help remove the stigma and fear surrounding this condition, and to raise awareness that it is still possible for people with dementia to live fulfilling lives.

Untangling the Yarn also features interviews with carers from the Byron Shire Respite Service, information about dementia and tips for family members and carers.
