Seen This Movie Before

I wrote this song as a memorial for my mother, Marynell DeWeese. (who you would have loved if you met her.) She died in 1999 from breast cancer. As she died, she still had that smile to the very end, but her eyes told of her pain. She died naturally at home with the family there. I thought of my late brother Gary DeWeese's birthday and this song.   He had suicide eyes, too, dying from cancer. Cathy (sister), Walt (best human being to ever exist), and I were with him at the end, and I played this song on guitar with some of his other favorites for him shortly before he died. The good news is that he died at home the way he wanted to. ; Gary DeWeese was truly a one-of-a-kind incredible humorous brother who always made me laugh. Finally, Chase Walker, one of my best and closest friends, died two weeks ago of medical complications. Chase was my fellow guitar player in a little duo we played in and co-author on the "Bayou Savage Guitar Ghost Fighter" series. Suicide Eyes (A tribute to Marynell, Gary DeWeese and Chase Walker)

Nothing special!  Just me being me, chilling, a glass of wine, fireplace, and letting my fingers go where they want to go. Trying to figure out what genre this is, but I couldn't figure it out.

I sit down with my grandmother's old upright piano (Selma Rogers Russell) late at night, relaxing and playing.  Nothing serious, just playing, first two minutes I was just getting in the groove, after that is just one continuous long track of me just playing whatever popped into my mind.

Initially, I recorded this song as a requiem for my song, "Suicide Eyes."  While writing the book with Chase Walker, "Bayou Savage, Guitar Ghost Fighter Series," book III, "Attack on the Institute," there is a scene where the mystic Leslie dies but reveals a terrifying vision of what will happen to the ghost fighters in three days. As I wrote that scene, this requiem came to mind. It's all me; I play all the instruments. I hope you like it.
