BaZ  aka Don B hails from the bullet riddled, crack infested  streets of
Flatbush Brooklyn. As a juvenile, he ran wild in these streets and got
into trouble with several local law enforcement agencies which
eventually landed him in detention centers, group homes, Riker Island
and finally prison. Although Hip Hop had always been a part of BaZ's
life,  a friend of his  encouraged him to write ryhmes, still it
wasn't until he found himself in a cell in Elmira's reception that he
wrote his first ryhme. And even then, he only did so to escape the
deafening noises coming out the cells of other inmates as they
screamed, hollered and shouted at one another, which he reasoned
was just  their way of keeping themselves from hearing what
their minds was really trying to tell them.
 When BaZ was released, he continued writing rhymes and constructing rap
songs. He let a few close people  hear him spit the songs he had
written  until a very influential friend of his
heard him.  Subsequently, and without BaZ's knowledge, that friend  booked BaZ
 studio time. At that studio, BaZ recorded 3 tracks as a demo and performed at several clubs: The Demerara, The Flamigo and a string of
other local clubs in the West Village. As a result, a promoter Veronica
took notice of him and offered to manage and promote to him. But before anything
could really develop career wise with BaZ and Veronica, BaZ's little brother got
murdered and not long afterwards, BaZ  lost focused, got caught up
in the vices of the streets again, got arrested on a gun charge and went to prison for a year and a half. While in prison, BaZ continued to write and  hone his craft. Some of his musical influences were Rakim, Nas, Biggie Smalls and Tupac.
Still bitter and hurt about the lost of his little brother, when BaZ got of prison
he continued to pursue a life of crime until he got arrested again. He spent 7 years in state prisons and was released in 2007, and in 2008 a mutual
friend  introduce BaZ to RDB Productions where he 
recorded various songs, and a result, A guy from an independant
record company called  Orpheus Music Group expressed an interest in signing 
BaZ but when the time came to that, the guy couldn't get the budget.
Someone once asked BaZ, "what, if anything, did he learn from his
experiences with the street life and from the time he's done in the
penal system?" He answered, " I learned that sometimes you have to go
through hell in order to come out right and that it takes a hard
message to get through a hard head."This essentially describes
BaZ's style of rap. His music reflects that besides illegal ways, 
there are other avenues, more constructive
means to be successful in the hood. Because of what BaZ has been
through in his own life, his music is highly relevant
to the youth, as he  personally identifies with  the
perils and pitfalls confronting  today's youth (especially young black males) on a
daily basis in the hood and knows the hard choices they have to
make in order to navigate those harsh realities and survive. He knows
that the youth can only hear you when you speak to them in the language
they understand and he possesses the skills to do so in a most entertaining yet
very descriptive way.
