Polarity

mobit. asked me again to do a remix. In this case for his driving track "minimalistic". In his version you'll notice that he used just a few instruments (minimal) and modulated them in such a way that it's still a full and driving track. Good job to @mobit-bln !!

I've approached it a little bit differently though. I've used almost all of his sounds for the remix, but I used them as short snippets/stabs and laid them over some strong drums. In the break I've added an Orchestra consisting of 3 different Violins/Violas, 4 different Horns, 2 different Celli's and 1 small Choir. But as soon as the beat kicks in, it returns to a minimal approach.

My first gig after the lockdown was an interesting one. My buddy @wieberoose invited me to play at his new event Hedomanie in Insomnia Club (Berlin). It’s a kinky project where different kinds of art meet the kinky-club scene in Berlin. I had a lot of fun playing there. This is a part of my opening set. Later on in the evening I played a Techno Set with a trumpet player, which was an interesting combo as well!

Hedomanie - Opening Set @ Insomnia Club, Berlin

The crew of Bass & BBQ invited me to play at their 2nd event. At the first event I was a guest and I witnessed a great crew with know-how of organizing a solid event: the lights, the “amazing” sound-wall, and the relaxed atmosphere pulled me in. The 2nd event was amazing as I expected. Now, I can proudly call myself part of their crew. They asked me to be a resident and I’m already looking forward to their next event. They intent to make it even bigger, so I got my hopes up for an even bigger and greater Festival next year.

The first 30 minutes consist of my own productions and after that it's a freestyle.

~ We celebrated 5 years of DCMB and the club was packed!! 
~ This was the last chance to party (properly) in Germany because they announced a new lockdown. 
~ The quality of the recording is in some parts of the mix a bit distorted. The meters on the mixer looked totally fine, but the mixer itself was shit.

BAZEJA || DCMB 5 Years' Anniversary (Live)

Wiebe & Caty invited me again to play at their Kinky Sexy Event " Hedomanie " . Always a really good vibe in the crowd. In Germany (Berlin) we're still not allowed to dance in the clubs, but this might change rather quickly. With a bit of luck, we can dance again next month. Fingers crossed!  
So during this event, the organization focussed more on workshops and the dress code. 

Since dancing was not allowed and I opened the evening, I decided to start out with some relaxed House Music which I built up to some more energetic House. Then it elevated to Groovy Tech House Basslines and in the end I could drop a few Techno records to warm up for the next DJ.

DJ Set Live @ Hedomanie || Insomnia Berlin ||  27.01.2022

It’s about time to release some Techno music again. As some of you know, I also produce other genres as @perdixmusic and I focussed a bit more on that lately. Though, these two babies were waiting to get out there and maybe it was even a good choice to let them marinate a little bit. I mixed & mastered the EP myself with some new killer Plugins. So I’m excited to drop the matured versions now and I can’t wait to play them live once the clubs open again in Berlin. 

Both tracks are characterized by the same driving 1/16 bass line, which gives them an energetic vibe. Complemented with a percussive rhythmic loop, topped off by the shakers, hi hats, and claps. Both tracks also have a vocal. The vocal used in "Aliens" is from a well-known spaceship inventor, who has interesting and very plausible ideas about Aliens. In "Invasion", I've recorded my own voice for the vocal and the lyrics are a reaction of an Alien to the thoughts of the human speaker in the track "Aliens". The Lead synthesizer glues all these Elements together into two powerful and energetic tracks.

It has been a while since I posted some new tunes of myself. Creative products are never done, because there is always something you can do better. Call it striving for perfection or just being insecure about the abilities one possess. And for this reason I am postponing to upload new tunes, but I want to change that. I am going to challenge myself in finishing 1 track per month (production, mix, and master). Hopefully I can live up to my own expectations and finish more work in a shorter period of time. So the first two tracks I want to share are ‘Mind’ & ‘Imagine’. The track ‘Mind’ does very well in the clubs, because it's deep, punchy, and has a lot of energy. The track ‘Imagine’ is more melodic and has a lot of elements in the mix. The mix-down of this track was the hardest part and it took ages. That's why I didn’t play the track live jet. But we will see how that turns out during future gigs. I hope you will enjoy the music. If there’s any feedback you can give me, please share in order for me to improve my music.

Last weekend @ Harbour Shelter, Lisboa Portugal 🇵🇹

Thanks to all the people that stayed until 11.00 in the morning! I was flabbergasted by your energy and love. Had such a great time. I didn't know that Portugal also liked their techno rough, driving and without a stop! After my set I spoke with some people about the music scene in Portugal and after that I walked with a few homies through Lisbon in the sunshine. A debut like this couldn't go any better.

BAZEJA @ Harbour Shelter, Lisboa [Portugal]

In these times, I have a lot of time on my hands which I feel like is a blessing. Everyday I'm waking up, having breakfast, meditate a bit and go to the park for a work out. After the 4-hour morning routine, the day starts off with a couple of hours working on my old and new music: producing-, mixing-, and mastering sessions. The rest of the day I fill with some other tasks to be done. It feels like I'm moving 'Forward' with my plans and ambitions like never before. So, how suiting is it to drop a 3-track EP called 'Forward'? The EP consists of 3 original tracks which have one thing in common; the driving, rolling, and forward (bass)synth. To me, the pushing sound represents moving forward instead of standing still while the world turns around.

Body Music is exactly the term I would use to describe Techno Music. It is music one has to experience! A club is the perfect environment for this experience as it provides a certain atmosphere where everybody comes to do the same thing: Dance! Besides, the experience becomes even greater when there is a powerful sound system that cary the heavy load of this genre. I fell in love with it 10 years ago, and I'm still loving it. I would say: Listen to the track yourself and see if my words really capture what the track is telling you. 

Besides I've used a vocal with the following lyrics:

You dance where the music is coming from
My first experiences where hearing music on such powerful sound systems that physically moved air
Man, I just remembered how that felt

This Music is Body Music
Experience this thing on a physical level
It's pushing you, it's vibrating you, it's pushing your insides
Ummm, Our body's are made up of water and if you look at what bass frequencies do to water.. It changes their shape..
As you change the tonality of sound, 
the water shifts shapes from the tonalities

It's like tickling you from the inside to hear sound on that level..
IT FEELS GOOD!

Body Music

My latest production ’Liquid Acid’ is like a little brother to the track ‘Body Music’. It’s got this heavy hitting 808-type of Bass-frequencies, which is glued together by a grooving percussion layer. But the track is really characterized by a (liquid) acid line, which cuts straight through the mix and captures your attention. As always, I am curious about your thoughts and I can’t wait to start playing the clubs again in order to try out all these new releases in front of a live audience. Bless and stay safe!

Liquid Acid

With a lot of spare time on my hands due to this Covid Virus, I've been making a lot of tunes and investing my time in musical self development. I started these tunes in March and they have been resting on the shelve for a good reason. For a tree to flourish, it needs water, sun and minerals. Over time, the tree will grow strong roots and long flexible branches in order to reach for the sky. I don't think I have to explain the nature of the tracks in itself, as the vocals from Merkel (Epidemie) and a Monk (Pandemie) are already self explanatory.

My letter to DCMB 

I met one of you fine spirits in the club where I played my first gig in Berlin 3 years ago (Süß War Gestern). A friend of mine threw a birthday party there and told me that I had to meet ‘this guy’ who ran his own collective in the Berliner Clubscene. “He might be interested in your dj skills, he said.” So that night we introduced ourselves, talked about music and exchanged numbers. Only knowing a few people at the time, things seemed to move very fast. Because not 2 weeks later ‘this guy’ invited me to meet the crew … Yes, the DCMB crew. I played a few of my own tunes and everybody welcomed me in the group as if they already knew me for years. The next week I played two packed gigs in Burg Schnabel and ever since ‘this guy’ has been arranging gigs for his crew, which I am thankful for. This happened within my first 6 weeks in Berlin, and dreams don’t come true? I beg to differ!   

In order to capture this almost nostalgic story, I’ve recorded a dj set for y’all with my own productions as well as a lot of old tracks, which I enjoyed to play over the years, and few new diamonds.
