"Might as well" by Future was the catalyst. The inspiration for this song was, predictably, A breakup. I wrote this song over the course of 18 months after my debut album "On The Way". Departing from the melancholy of "Counting Sheep", this song is a celebration of the gift that is the present day. "Palisades" represents hope for the future and a healthy optimism towards the goals that you have not yet achieved. We haven't made it yet, but we might as well celebrate the journey.
