Big Ry: Most Played

I had the idea to record a mix with some of my older favourite hard trance tunes that reminded me of the old Frantic days when I started clubbing and djing in London, then I threw in some  bootlegs, then it turned into adding some hard house tunes with trance vocals/riffs, then some hard house with pop vocals crept in, then a donkier tune somehow slipped in, then I just let it become a random melodic ride with old and new merging! 

Been a private mix for over a year which a few of my friends have enjoyed, I was never planning to make it live, but it's inspired by Frantic and got some absolute bangers on it... so decided ahead of my set B2B with Dawn Lee, for Frantic presents Positive State @ XOYO in Birmingham Sept 2024 to let it out into the wild! Despite my Southern roots I’ve always been a huge fan of bounce, and the energy and joy that music brings to the dancefloor, often annoying my mates back in the day by dropping those fluffy bounce tunes I loved so much.

Big Ry - Uplifting Vocal Bounce [Bounce: 152bpm]

Camden Palace in London (now KOKO) was the Mecca of Southern UK hard house in the early 2000s; a wonderful venue with unique characteristics, that provided a platform for some of the best ever DJs from the scene. All the classics were played, but there were some that just had that ‘Camden Sound’, often grand and trancey in nature, filling every nook and cranny of the theatre style venue, and ensuring ravers had the tunes to see them through the night!.

This mix is the first in our BB4L 'We Love Camden Palace' series; including bouncy tunes that remix or sample those famous Camden tunes, bringing back some of the best memories, yet with a different kind of sound.

The BB4Ls are a group of pals who bonded in the early 2000s over a shared love of repetitive dance music, sweaty hugs, and over-priced bottles of water. After a short break from hard house and the rave scene, they are back with fresh mixes to suit all tastes.

Covering many styles of music, this page dedicates itself to sharing great sounds from all DJs, alongside the BB4Ls own mixes, and with regular guest mixes from both established and up and coming artists.

I've loved Hard Dance since 2000 when I first found Megabyte, an amazing Hard House event with great DJs, a unique sound, and awesome people.

Most styles get me stompin, but I find real joy from that bouncy, fun, happy 'megabyte' sound. My mixes tend to favour that, although I can't resist some female vocals, trancey breakdown, or a thumping bass line 🙌🏻. 

Over the last year I have begun including many genres of Hard Dance in my mixes, including techno, trance, hard trance, tech trance and EDM; and always try to include both current tunes and forgotten gems in each one.....
