I was recently blown away by both Niina's (https://on.soundcloud.com/4gfq7) and Big Ry's (https://on.soundcloud.com/syNG7) trance mixes. Trance music has always been very close to my heart, so I was keen to contribute to this mix series. 

If you were a fan of the old reactivate CDs, you may enjoy this. A compilation of forgotten gems from the late 90s / early 2000s.

Lots of banter in the BB4L chat about these and somehow the name 'Murder Music' came about. It kind of stuck and fitting name for this one.

Shipsey - Murder Music [Hard House]

One of the things I love about mixing again is that it's never just about the mix I'm recording for here it is everything else around it. The finding new tunes, digging through old ones or earmarking tracks for a mix down the line. 

Just the constant and complete obsession with with music again and I am never far away from it in some way.

This mix was a lot of fun. After Movement & Momentum, Cranky Rat & Murder Music I decided to a go bit lighter. I mean it's still me, so it's never that light. Especially in the the last 1/3 of the mix.

The BB4Ls recently returned to Camden palace for Frantic, on March 4th, 2023.

Without doubt, one of the best events I’ve ever attended. The people, music, DJs and venue made it a truly magical experience.

Camden palace is an iconic venue, it’s certainly changed over the years with new ownership and renovations, however its managed to preserve the mystery and intrigue, that we all fell in love with in our early raving days.

This vinyl & digital mix, is a dedicated to the truly incredible parties we’ve had there over the years. A trancier take on the classics we grew to love.

Some tracks are Camden classics, some remixes of classics, a new mash up of two of my fav classics by Big Ry, a couple of tracks I would have liked to have heard back in the day, and the epic “Energise” which Wayne Smart and Ashley Waters dropped on the 4th, carving it into Camden classic history!

Based in the South West of England, SFS has been DJ’ing since the late 90s (known then as Superfly Sy) and loves the harder style of hard house, sprinkled with some trancey vibes. After a break from the music and scene he is now back and keen to get stuck back in, through both engaging with the community and mixes from other DJs mixes, along with uploading some of his own for us all to enjoy.
