The return of South Sudan's former rebel leader Riek Machar to Juba on Monday was meant to signal a new beginning for the country's peace process. But his absence from Juba three days on has renewed tensions. Both the government and rebel sides are accusing each other of obstructing the incoming Vice President's return. Today officials monitoring the peace deal signed in August warned that the delay was putting the agreement at risk. Well Dr Machar has been waiting in Gambella in neighbouring Ethiopia to fly back. With him is Ambassador Ezekiel Gatkouth .... head of external affairs for the SPLM-in opposition.  Focus On Africa's Akwasi Sarpong  asked him what was causing the delay?

Jacob Juma - a wealthy and well-known businessman - was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Nairobi.

He had been involved in several high-profile legal cases against the government over failed business deals.

Mr Juma had warned several months ago that there was a plot to kill him because of his outspoken views.

Resident Presidents talk drought

Joe Wylie was granted amnesty for his role in Liberia's armed conflict over three decades. 

He now uses these experiences to lecture on peace at universities across the country. 

Another of his pastimes is music, using an ancient stringed instrument played with the teeth and hands to produce melodies which evoke the sounds of village life.
