Hailing from Montreal, Canada, we are excited to welcome @cornelius_malware for the ninth edition of the selector series. He is part of @discosgraves, a collective and label with a strong audio-visual focus, releasing contemporary electronic music and edits beefing up gems from the past. Cornelius is creator of the label’s own Longboard Cruise edit series, capturing slow life during the hot summer months of coastal Lima. Due to perfect compatibility with the breezy afternoon vibes we curate at KS, we asked him to record a mix to accompany the recent release of the series’ second edition. 

We are glad he accepted - the outcome is a fantastic selection of his personal favourites, taking us on a trip through 80’s funk, boogie, synth-pop and obscure fusions thereof, including previously released and also unreleased material. This set is road trip-approved or alternatively highly recommended for simmering in the tropical sun.

'Music They Love'... we ask DJ's and producers to delve into their collection and put together a selection of records that have meant a lot to them in the past, as well as the present. All things inspirational and influential - the records which have shaped their sound as a producer or selection as a DJ.

Up next is Berlin-based producer & DJ @amydabbs, who had this to say about her mix:

'It was great to crate dig through my record collection again to put this mix together. I was buying records like these back in the early 00s, which really formed the basis of my house music education. These artists and labels featured prominently in the weekly haul I used to get from London record stores back then, and their sound has inspired and shaped my own productions and sets today.

The only new track I included is my forthcoming release, No More Distractions, which is probably the track of mine most heavily influenced by this era. I hope you enjoy the mix!'
