Juno Download Review: Review: As always with the Big Fat Mama Beats crew, the vibes are plentiful with their latest release drop, which sees the one they call Leygo return with four tracks packed with pure fire across the first edition of 'Shake N Break'. We begin with the ghoulish vocal sampling and scattered breakbeat drum designs of 'Get It Tonight', followed closely by the more funk influenced vocal lines and tearout reese basses of 'Music'. From here we galavant into the sharpened synthesizer writhings and chomping percussion of 'Rock Me Baby', before rounding off with 'Vital Signs', a blissful exploration into nostalgic keys and grizzly drum scatters!

A new Facebook page has arisen here in Perth celebrating the wondrous rave scene that Perth has had from the late 80's onwards. A lot of photos, music and stories have been shared on this page bringing back memories and pictures of people i used to rave with in the very early 1990's. For the life of me i can remember the peoples faces but not all of their names.

This Rave & Club Classics Mix has come about because of this new Facebook page and the music, people, DJs (Local and international) and events that took place and the major influence they had on me in my late teens and onwards. Pretty much all of the tracks in the mix were played around the time i was raving and clubbing. It was the time of no social media (thank god) and more of a community of people who enjoyed going out to all hours of the morning, dancing the night away with rave buddies and friends.

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back with another star-packed release &ndash; this time from discObeta, who has teamed up with some heavy hitters on the remix front for a funky slice of hip-hop breaks.discObeta has served up 2 epic funk fused originals and call on Fort Knox Five, Ross Go, Mined &amp; Forrest, BadboE &amp; Pecoe to get busy on some remixes.
Starting off with the title tune Down The Block which showcases discObeta&rsquo;s low-slung funky sounds with some well picked classic vocal hooks and smooth electro basslines. Fort Knox Five is coming in hot on the remix of Down The Block with an upbeat dancefloor twist to the original. They get the absolute best out of the vocal hooks while making it their own on by infusing their classic funky Fort Knox Five vibes that they are known and loved for. Ross Go is getting busy while diving into the classic goldmine of samples and serves up a fun and upbeat alternative to the original.
On the flip side we dive into some serious street vibes and big flows on the Yoobie Doo joint. Original cut gives more of the low-slung goodness from discObeta while Mined &amp; Forrest adds some well picked glitch and atmosphere to the equation. Label head honcho and funky breaks veteran BadboE gives Yoobie Doo a glitchy boom bap twist before Pecoe ending things off on a funky breaks tip with his uptempo funky remix.

As so many times before Morlack brings us the funky heat by going back to the timeless classics to pick out pieces to wrap into his own special style of electro bass funk.
The Closet&nbsp;Freak EP showcases the very best of the Morlack-style starting off with a big rearrangement of a classic soul jam on the Papa Was. Moving on to the title jam Closet Freak that brings out the big dancefloor vibes and boogie basslines with some rnb vocals to go with it.Plastic Love brings down the tempo a bit but the big groove remains on this smooth joint that elegant merges silky soul with electro beats and basslines.It Gets To Me brings it back to the heavier dancefloor vibes with some big classic rap flows for the win. Founded by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE) in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music! 

The music will span from traditional nu funk and funky breaks to more dancefloor oriented ghetto funk,  future funk and big beat as well as hip hop with a glitch and the more mellow side of the drum ‘n’ bass and nu breaks. The sound of Breakbeat Paradise is driven by an emphatic beat that is intended to form a leitmotif between the releases.

Even though releases from Breakbeat Paradise will be coming from different artists, we always uniform a sound by focusing within the genres of breakbeat.  Collaborators and musicians work close together on our label and we are always ensuring a brand of selective “state of the art“, quality and sound .

We will devote ourselves to deliver the phattest, funkiest and the biggest grooves to be found out there...
