Here is a new Northern Soul track I’ve written with my Dad called ‘Take All Your Lovin’ And Run’ with fantastic Lulu-esque singer, Sarah Collins. Sarah and I met by chance at last year’s BBC ‘Make A Difference’ awards, where I was a judge and handed out an award, and Sarah had a halftime singing slot. She had a bit of fame last year, as she had overcome a brain tumour, and unbeknown to her, it was arranged that she would perform at the London Palladium on the Michael McKintyre Big Show on BBC TV with American singer, LeAnn Rimes! We’ve had early support from my pal Craig Charles on his BBC6 Afternoon and Funk & Soul shows and from a number of well-known DJ's -  hope you like it!

We have a very special showcase mix this week from @Pecoe.

This mix is all about the funk ! Sitting around the 116bpm mark Pecoe lets us in on a mix showcasing most of his latest work with 2 new releases from his upcoming "Funk Nuggets EP" release through Cuttin It Fine Records as well as a bunch of new edits and remixes fit for every funk purveyor out there.  

Pecoe, hailing from the west coast of the "Land Down Under" Australia, began his love for electronic music in the early 1990's frequenting his local nightclubs in Perth and cementing himself in the underground rave scene at that time. He soon got his first pair of cheap and nasty turntables at the local electronic store and began to collect vinyl records....

Fast forward the the early 2000's and Pecoe had found Nu Skool Breaks (and better equipment). In the mid 2000's he began experimenting with DAW's and producing elementary breakbeat music with little knowledge. In 2007 he began his blog "Breakzlinkz" a place where he shares the lastest and greatest breakbeat DJ mixes around. In 2013 he released his first EP "Dance Everybody" through the Relative Dimensions label and so began his career into the world of music making.

Of late Pecoe's music has graced such labels as Gritz & Gravy, Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, Fort Knox Five Recordings, Big Fat Mama Beats and Cuttin It Fine Records. His music has also been aired on various podcasts and radio shows across the world such as the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show. Gathering a large following on Soundcloud and well known for giving away free funky tracks the future looks bright for Pecoe.

Founded by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE) in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music! 

The music will span from traditional nu funk and funky breaks to more dancefloor oriented ghetto funk,  future funk and big beat as well as hip hop with a glitch and the more mellow side of the drum ‘n’ bass and nu breaks. The sound of Breakbeat Paradise is driven by an emphatic beat that is intended to form a leitmotif between the releases.

Even though releases from Breakbeat Paradise will be coming from different artists, we always uniform a sound by focusing within the genres of breakbeat.  Collaborators and musicians work close together on our label and we are always ensuring a brand of selective “state of the art“, quality and sound .

We will devote ourselves to deliver the phattest, funkiest and the biggest grooves to be found out there...
