I couldn't be more pleased with the response I've been getting to The Armory Podcast so far. After four fantastic guests (Mafia Kiss, Kid Panel, BETA & Lunathics), I figured it was time to feature one of my own mixes. These days, Zach's live sets are mostly packed with party rockin' breaks, but his love of electronic music starts with house and spans many of the subgenres, including deep, vocal, tech, progressive, and electro. Dusk is starting to seep through. It’s a sultry Monday afternoon in a modest Cul De Sac. Behind a semi-detached bungalow there’s a low frequency of electronic drums pounding. They are frequently accompanied by sporadic screams, laughter and occasional glass smashing.

The noises are coming from a shed in a woman’s garden. Upon opening the door you are greeted by two 30 something males. Both are dressed like Kevin and Perry and look as if they are stuck in a time warp from the 90’s. They are both drinking heavily, and the table is littered with an array of paraphernalia from the weekend’s festivities.
The males in question are Roast Beatz and Kurnel MC. Both claiming how one day they will successfully make music and be booked to play festivals over the world. A likely story!! Kurnel realises he’s been up all weekend and the party should’ve stopped on Sunday morning. He creeps to the sofa for some shut eye and begins to dream about what it would be like to fulfil his musical fantasies……

Cue funky guitar licks performed by the one and only Mr Stabalina, Drums that will get a festival tent nodding, uplifting horn samples, tight scratches from Uncle Roast and catchy vocals laid down by the main man Kurnel.

Is it a dream? Fortunately not!!

For Roast Beatz second single on Cuttin’ It Fine he’s assembled all the above to bring you the funkiest festival slammer of the Summer. Every DJ will need this in their crate and all-party people deserve it in their speakers to make life that little bit doper!

To accelerate the freshness Roast has called upon the following artists to remix it: Frankee More, Beat Le Juice & Crash Party.

Beat Le Juice brings a G Funk squelchy bass line to make your neck feel like the hydraulics on a low rider accompanied by tasty synths and a saxophone to make it complete!

Crash Party do what they do best, play chess with different stems on the track while sprinkling their secret sauce of various synths and bass lines resulting in another solid remix under their belts.

Frankee More grabs all the elements and uses an audio snow storm to come up with an eclectic banger, containing extreme bass and funk magic.

Got To Get Down - Easier said than done after 10 glasses of this brew! But if you manage to maintain your rhythm, this is the joint to shake it to. The more up-tempo out of the selection and a sure shot to keep dance floors lit from Vancouver to UK.

Rock Y’all - Air guitar comes easiest when downing loud mouth soup! Ross bangs out a rocking joint consisting of solid bass samples to stop the room spinning. Accompanied by a wealth of your favourite classic Hip Hop Vox you’ll be strutting to this 'til you drop!

Work It - This joint is a favourite in the hipster section of the pub. Digging up a more 70’s French theme that will make your moustache drip with excitement. a walking encyclopedia of all things funky, The Gaff’s record
collection and knowledge has awed other like-minded rhythm purveyors
such as DJ Nu-Mark, Cosmo Baker, and Fort Knox Five. With access to
such a deep inventory of musical history it’s no wonder that The
Gaff’s DJ sets and production work have also inspired much acclaim
from his fans and contemporaries. The Gaff consistently offers a party
rockin’ collage of snippets, samples, and drum breaks from dusty vinyl
sources, splicing the familiar into something new and always ready to

Breakbeat Paradise Recording is on a journey of pushing funk and breaks to a new audience and joining forces with Greek-based Nasa Funk who is on the very same journey. Nasa Funk released their Stand Up track on the Funk Originals 12&rdquo; vinyl back in 2016 and is now ready to drop their first full EP on the label.
Nasa Funk who consists of Alexandros Spanidis: drums / Costas Chasiotis: bass / Alexandros Papoulidis: guitar / Charis Kapetanakis: saxophone, keys / Georges Perin: vocals, talkbox has been pushing funk and hiphop to the Greek audience since the late 90s which has earned a big following in though-out Greece. They are now ready to take on the world stage and has cooked up the funk anthem with the Covid relevant title: Gonna Work It. &ldquo;Love will prevail&rdquo; as lead singer Georges Perin puts it on this finger snapping, low-slung funk jam.
To complete the package Nasa Funk has teamed up with some of biggest talents in the electronic funk scene who are all giving their signature twist to the Gonna Work It joint.Starting off with the French producer duo Prosper &amp; Stabfinger who took the track to a completely different dimension by giving it a state-of-the-art nu-disco treatment. Prosper &amp; Stabfinger are known for their funky flavors and has recently journeyed into the world of disco and this remix is certainly a proof that they feel very much at home in that genre. Founded by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE) in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music! 

The music will span from traditional nu funk and funky breaks to more dancefloor oriented ghetto funk,  future funk and big beat as well as hip hop with a glitch and the more mellow side of the drum ‘n’ bass and nu breaks. The sound of Breakbeat Paradise is driven by an emphatic beat that is intended to form a leitmotif between the releases.

Even though releases from Breakbeat Paradise will be coming from different artists, we always uniform a sound by focusing within the genres of breakbeat.  Collaborators and musicians work close together on our label and we are always ensuring a brand of selective “state of the art“, quality and sound .

We will devote ourselves to deliver the phattest, funkiest and the biggest grooves to be found out there...
