how i’m supposed to do for someone else 
when i can’t even do this for myself
i done built a wall around myself 
i done been to hell and back myself
and i done put my dreams on the shelf right
i learned with grief ain’t no shelf life 
they say adapt or you’ll perish 
it was your depth that i cherished 
overthink myself into oblivion
i got love for each and every palestinian 
catalog of pain got me feeling distant
same people from my past looking at me different
same people put me last in they future visions
empty stomach heavy heart god know i’m grieving 
a couple seasons passed the pain has only deepened
i try to give it time let it work itself out 
meditate on good things never dwell in self doubt but 
sometimes i need to shut down
crippled in this bed, head in the clouds
if i could pay the pain away i’d pay an ungodly amount but
i can’t keep counting
the pain keep mounting

plagued by thoughts, your body in a box 
wish i could turn back the hands on the clocks
watered our crops until we made it off the block
looking back laughing as if we broke the locks 
still healing from the things that i don’t talk about
i wonder what’s the last thing that you thought about
was it the loneliest place in the universe? 
were you ready for the next phase in your traverse?
since then i think of you in every single verse 
since then i day dream about when we’d converse 
you were evergreen i will forever grieve
ill try to relish in the moments that i find relief
crying in the car trying to calm my nerves 
bargaining with god tryna come to terms
i know it’s all above me i’ll just let it burn 
gotta meditate on learning less on my concerns 
yearning for the memories we never made 
got some secrets and i’m gonna take them to my grave 
it was an honor and a privilege that’ll never fade 
i know you send me glimmers i see them every day 
staring at the ceiling, stars overhead 
in my feelings you appearing anchored in my head
straight from the heart it’s what we always said 
i will find you again we share a common thread
