OC 80 is made up of producer Matthew Dell @mjddj (LA) and poet Alexandra Myshalov @lilfreeky1 (Vienna). Their new work 'Shelter' moves through a blighted landscape, less a narrative than a series of shifting textures. It is the first work of two weavers who are assembling protocols for moving through a world that has already ended.

Backtearer & Why Be - dc

The ‘dc mixtape’ takes the form of an oneiric suite, moving through expressive registers alternately liturgical, pastoral, and diaristic. Why Be and Backtearer recorded it between Copenhagen, Berlin, and Hong Kong, and the resulting beatless vignettes bear traces of their disparate recording contexts as a kind of aural sediment, accumulated across a jagged multi-continental procession. Following their collaborative track “Freedom Amph” on Backtearer’s 2015 LP ‘Swear’ for Berlin’s YYAA Recordings, this is the two artists’ first full-length release.

Choque es un compilado hecho por amigos con el propósito de recaudar fondos para la reconstrucción de casas en las zonas afectadas por los sismos que ha vivido Mexico en el último mes. En los días que siguieron al 19 de Septiembre, estuvimos en los centros de acopio y entre los escombros, ahora que es tiempo de reconstruir también queremos hacer algo. No es una solución absoluta pero como músicos, podemos contribuir con nuestra labor. La totalidad del dinero recaudado será donado a 'Échale', una organización que lleva más de veinte años construyendo casas en zonas de bajos recursos de México y que ahora se están enfocando en los lugares afectados por el sismo. Nuestros amigos de Ensamble también hicieron un compilado y está increíble, ellos están recaudando fondos para contribuir a los costos de una brigada de rescatistas que va a poblaciones extremadamente aisladas. Choque is a compilation made by friends with the purpose of raising funds destined towards the re-building of houses in areas affected by the series of earthquakes that have hit Mexico over the course of a month. During the days following September 19th, we were in the donation centres and in between the rubble of collapsed buildings. Now that it is time to rebuild, we want to do something too. This by no means an all encompassing solution but as artists, we can contribute with our labour. The entirety of funds raised will be donated to Échale, a registered not-for-profit with over twenty years' experience building homes in low-income areas of Mexico. This organization is now focusing their efforts on areas that were affected by the earthquakes. Our friends at Ensamble have also come out with a compilation and it's amazing!
