Cid Inc's Replug Records welcomes Nopi back to the label for his first solo project. Ukrainian artist Nopi brings a surreal beauty to his innovative brand of electronic composition. His colourful synth leads, exotic percussive arrangements and smooth, dancefloor minded grooves have made for a sound that is all his own. Emerging in 2019, Nopi has enjoyed a three-year creative swell, earning the praise of electronic music tastemakers such as Behrouz, Guy J, Lee Burridge, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sebastian Leger and more; while All Day I Dream, Do Not Sit and TRYBESof have served as landing spots for his transcendent sound. Having made his Replug debut in 2020 with a collaborative project alongside progressive music star Dmitry Molosh, Nopi now returns to the trailblazing imprint for his first solo effort entitled ‘Nature In The Home'. 

Continuing to tread the waters between progressive and organic house, Nopi leans closer to the former on first track ‘Nature In The Mountains After Mushrooms'. A dizzying dance floor slam powered by potent kick drums and hyperspace effects. Rather than burst into a whirlwind or electronic symphony, Nopi delivers tension through slow burn repetition, dodging expectations and emphasizing his conceptual charm, painting bucolic scenes of solitude, as hypnagogic effects unveil a semi-conscious dreamland, before the Ukrainian's creative attitude reveals itself during an interlude of colourful synth swagger and mesmerizing progression. 

Beneath the powerful tidal waves of 'Nature In The Mountains After Mushrooms' lies the spellbinding realities of 'Mistake Forest'. Packed to the hilt with drama and emotion, its adventurous spirit is something Nopi relishes in, as he flexes a trance-inducing side of his studio repertoire. A genuine exchange of melody and texture provide the narrative, where themes of introspection and hope get translated by fuzzed out vocal fragments, thought-provoking musicality and machine-gun style grooves. 

Continuing on a similar monochrome are the nostalgic qualities of the collection's final selection 'Capadocia'. Profoundly idyllic, it's a composition that further cements Nopi's elusive vision, as its buoyant beginnings morph into a meditative, consciousness-expanding conversion of musical ideas. Dark rebounding rhythms and rolling basslines set the course for rustic hooks, prismatic effects and metallic arps, which ultimately puts a stamp on this thematic collection from one of progressive music's rising mavericks.

On the remix duties of Pradera, is Manu Pavez, also debuting on the label, with releases on labels such as Mango Alley and Forward Music, imprints his sound signature creating a powerful remix for the track, full of groove. Closing the EP Sumandra, continues the progressive tone set with a fluid groove moving through rolling contours and rhythmic pulses, creating a mystical feeling track to the dancefloor. Clubsonica Records rounds out the month of November with a new EP from label boss Juan Pablo Torrez and Jossem. Colombian artist and Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez has compiled an impressive resume since first emerging in 2007. Mango Alley, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden, UV and more have served as landing spots for his progressive creations, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast supporters along the way. Also highly regarded as a DJ, Juan remains one of Colombia's premiere talents, sharing the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Tim Green, D-Nox and more. Meanwhile, also calling Colombia home is Jossem who arrives as one of his country’s new names in progressive house. A collaborative partnership with fellow countryman Kamilo Sanclemente has yielded standout projects for Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, amongst others. Now, combining their forces for the first time via Clubsonica, Juan Pablo Torrez and Jossem unveil their ‘Lost In Love | Ambar’ EP, alongside remixes from Marcelo Vasami, Hicky & Kalo and Abity.

Lead selection ‘Lost in Love’ finds Juan and Jossem introducing the emotive vocals of Velveta. A precious talent from Cali, Colombia who has already collaborated with some of electronic music’s finest innovators and labels such as Anjunadeep, Songuara and UV. Here the trio flex their creative muscles and craft a nostalgic progressive house gem, a sprawling production that would be equally at home above a festival skyline or sitting in the emotional sweet spot of an end of the night scenario. The companion piece ‘Ambar’ follows suit and lands in equally impressive fashion with a strong sense of drive and swing heavy rhythms. Although this looping hypnotism does not fail to command your attention, its slow burning anticipation, orbiting effects and otherworldly breakdown ultimately seal what is a mid-set masterpiece. 

The first interpretation of ‘Lost in Love’ is provided by Marcelo Vasami. A recent partnership with progressive house icon Hernan Cattaneo has seen the duo become a formidable remix team. Now, making his much anticipated Clubsonica debut, Marcelo puts a touch on ‘Lost in Love’. Taking a smooth yet energetic approach, he constructs a tight rhythmic core, complemented with punchy beats, reprocessed vocals and retro chord stabs. It's this timeless fusion of sound which ultimately makes for a version that is both refreshing and club-effective; one that should crossover to a variety of dancefloors across the remainder of 2024 and on into 2025.

The final interpretation of ‘Lost in Love’ is provided by Hicky & Kalo. Although regulars throughout Quebec's much lauded club circuit, it is the world-renowned Stereo Nightclub which has served as the home base for their impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills. Also accomplished producers, the duo's deep melodic sounds have found a home on Renaissance, Watergate, and their own Plaisirs Sonores imprint. Now, they make their long awaited Clubsonica debut with an inspired rendition of ‘Lost in Love’. Opting for a contemporary club-effective approach, the duo’s muscular grooves, robust rhythmic structures and hazy vocal mutations make this ideal for the peak-time hours, when emotions are at their most receptive, in turn adding another sure fire weapon to your arsenal for the remainder of 2024.

The release concludes with Abity for the lone interpretation of ‘Ambar’. Finding a home on Clubsonica, the duo’s creative partnership with the label began in 2022 with the release of ‘Sinerxia | Lotus’, a project which now finds them returning for their first remix, as they put their own unique twist on ‘Ambar’. Adding further depth to the release, the duo artist opts for an emotive approach here, focusing on a cohesive blend of swaying grooves and trance-inducing arps, while tastefully incorporating the original’s distinctive rhythmic qualities, sealing what is a feel-good journey to round out the release in style.

Continuing what has been a prolific year, Nikko.Zs Dopamine White welcomes Nicolas Alcaraz to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Argentina, but currently based in Brazil, Nicolas Alcaraz is a new name in the world of progressive and organic house. After years of perfecting his studio skills, the Balneário Camboriú resident made his debut in October of this year with a contribution to Nordic Voyages popular Deep Aurora Nights series. The wispy organic qualities of Calma showcased Nicolas penchant for crafting soulful electronic music with an emphasis on exotic drums and evolving melodic structures. Now, embarking on the first EP project of his young career, Nicolas debuts on Dopamine White with Mind Free. Beginning with the enchanting vibes of the title selection, Nicolas craftsmanship shines throughout, as dubby tonal themes and percolating effects shapeshift atop muscular kick drums and chunky grooves. Its this smooth amalgamation of sound which leads to the introduction of a strong vocal narrative, carving out a soulful path into a thought provoking break, one which proves to be both tense and emotive. Creamy keys and percolating effects steal the air amidst fragmented vocals for a thought-provoking mood across the interlude, eventually giving way to a groove-centric finale. Beneath the nostalgic sounds of Mind Free lies the equally impressive Too Much. Here Nicolas elusive production chops serve him well as he crafts an expansive journey that is bursting with ultrasonic qualities and a keen sense of rhythm and groove. Flowing through shuffled percussive arrangements and tasteful melodic fragments, the first act evolves with a keen sense of flow, eventually revealing a darker monochrome which drives energy into the break. Not content to rest on his laurels, Nicolas pushes his creative boundaries further here, introducing a deconstructed vocal, as orbiting effects and a vortex of noise ultimately summons a huge finale to round out the release on an epic note.

Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Gignesthai’ is label artist Emi Galvan. Now making his sixth appearance on the Greek imprint, the Argentinean producer also lays claim to releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. Known for being selective in his projects, Emi now returns to Movement for just his third remix of the year. A DJ friendly beginning of spongy kicks and effervescent percussion leads to the introduction of buoyant basslines and rhythmic pulses. A perfect balance of warmth and drive provides the foundation for haunting motifs, teased across the first act as layers of percussion push the energy higher. Astral aesthetics highlight the main break, both quirky and rhythmic they elevate mood, eventually resetting the groove for a pulsating drop and mystical finale. An inspired remix from Emi which caps off a welcome return to electronic music for Ruben Karapetyan, an artist you are certainly going to be hearing much more from in the future.
