After a run of top 10 Beatport releases and big plays from the usual A-list DJ suspects- followed by a bit of a personal hiatus- Dissident label boss Noel Sanger is back with “Under Wide Horizons.” The original mix first appeared on our Dissident Miami 2021 compilation and has now been remixed by Noel himself. Powerful beats connect with emotive chord melodies and ethereal efx to deliver a sense of awe for any dancefloor.

Says Noel: “The chord structure had this epic, sort of awe-inspiring feeling to it, and it kept reminding me of this quote from Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, and that’s where the title came from. When my dad passed away earlier this year, I spent the next two weeks with my laptop, set up in his room, writing the remix, with the Heschel quote in mind. It seemed appropriate.”

It’s a bit of a timeless piece, we think, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do: for movement and dancing or even contemplative listening. Stay tuned! Dissident is back!

With 'Gaia' we welcome Ätherisch for his long-awaited debut on ICONYC Noir. Aätherisch delivers a slice of warm, pulsating club vibes. The track kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry bassline sits wonderfully on top, adding an extra layer of depth and class. 'Gaia' means business and it is evident with every step of the way. Essential stuff!

On remix duty we are very excited to welcome Astral Base who also marks his debut on the label with a classy remix for the ages. The Russian producer who is known for his deep melodic progressive influenced sounds, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive. It's all about the groove, cool house vibes and the deep driving beats that are working their magic around Astral Base's wonderfully arranged keys and the wonderful use of elements on offer. Astral Base once again has reminded us with his classy rework why we are so fond of him.

Next up we welcome Evegrem to the label with a gem of a remix. His purely deep progressive rework grabs you from the word go. Interspersing filtered stabs and a stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement are the name of the game. The understated yet driving bassline powers the groove along, as Evegrem keeps the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser.

With 'Gaia' Ätherisch really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful gem guides you to a full-on club laden, melodic hug of a release that will cause many smiles induced moments!
