I try to keep my head down and not pay too much attention to numbers or reception, as I think those can distract and displace one's priorities, but also because sometimes it can be downright overwhelming. Once in a while I look up and see people listening all around the world and just feel a gratitude so deep and poignant that the only thing I can think to do to process it is just make more music. Inspired by the BLM movement and my protest experiences of this past summer (and ongoing efforts to push for police reform and fight systemic racism in the USA) this was really a landmark for me both stylistically and in sound design, really pushing the boundaries and seeing how gnarly I could get with the low end and swingy groove of a track. Part of a fundraising release, track sales donated to NAACP. Throw your fist up.
