Holly Johnson - In And Out Of Love (Douze Remix)

There’s no shortage of extremely loud club tracks to thrash your eardrums with, which is why Nightriders’ forthcoming track “Paper Plane” is such a treat. This cosmic, soul-inspired, deep disco tune clocks in at 112 bpm, and it’s just what the doctor ordered if you’re looking to check out of the world for seven minutes. The duo is set to drop their new EP on February 17, but they’re not resting on their laurels, as they’re already back in the studio writing new material. Siraiva (@siraiva) ft. PipaMoran (@pipamoran) come together for their first release on Media Blackout with a vibed out sonic love story titled ‘Chance’. Together, that have crafted a song that instantly pays off on first listen, but delivers in new ways every time you hear it. Pipa Moran has a uniquely R&B flavor to her vocals that melt effortlessly into the nu-disco sensibility that Siraiva brings to his music.

Douze (@_douze) is Arnault Douze Esteve, a young French producer. First discovered by Kris Menace, he would later become the protégé of the German producer. Their collaboration led on to several tracks produced together on Kris's "Idiosyncrasies" first album followed by a handful of EPs. To this day, Kris and Douze continue to work together - with Douze appearing on Menace’s albums “Features” and forthcoming project “Sun, Moon & Stars” in collaboration with Simon Lord. Following this, Douze worked with another titan of the French house music scene, Alan Braxe, the results of which are still under lock and key in Braxe’s own production vault.

Three years on from his latest solo outing, Crazy P founder member Chris Todd AKA Hot Toddy returns to House of Disco with a predictably fine four-tracker. Our pick of a very strong bunch is the toughened up, revivalist electrofunk flex of "Wilde Touch", where clipped guitar riffs, crunchy Clavinet lines and colourful melodies ride a rubbery bassline, though the Paper Recordings-era Crazy P deep house/disco fusion of "Still We Are" is almost as impressive. Speaking of Crazy P, lead singer Danielle Moore lends her distinctive vocals to the Imagination-ish Brit-boogie business of "Positive Emotion", while the EP's other track, opener "Synthesize", is a darker and more spaced-out chunk of weighty, bassline-driven nu-boogie goodness.
