An archaeologist discovers an ancient shrine with the help of a local faerie and his trusty floating robo sidekick. The mask altar at the heart of the shrine is cold, grey, and dead. Nervously, the explorer places their hand on the mask. It warms to their touch, and deep beneath the shrine there is the sound of movement. Colors and light flash and flood through the room, tones and sensations emanating from the mask altar. Palpable mystical energies course through the room as the dust of ages is shaken off. The mask opens its eyes, and the archaeologist is taken deep into a place of deep learning, lore, comprehension, and unspeakable sublime knowing by the mask altar. Abruptly, it shuts its eyes, and quickly the noises and colors leach back out of the room, leaving our explorer stunned. After collecting themself, they journey on through the abandoned temple complex, wondering what other wonders await.
