Long embryo stage but it hatched!🥚
Finally putting out this recording of last year’s set at Waking Life - it's been a quiet spell for me recently, but following the closure of Planeta Manas feels good to break it with this release.

Playing between Nídia and Cormac, I was faced with a mood and genre-defying challenge, ending up playing from 80 to 170bpm including polyrhythmic drums, gushing psychedelia, conjuring both luminous and ominous soundscapes. Graced with a critical mass of enthusiastic stompers getting lost against the most beautiful sunset at Praia stage.

Thank you WL for inviting me to play, and thank you Ivan for inviting Planeta Manas crew to attend this year - a sweet moment to replenish our energy to say farewell to our planeta.

The DJ talks about Israel’s genocide in Gaza and how the music industry, and some of her peers, have failed Palestine.

The most deeply divisive topic of the year is undoubtedly Israel's genocide in Gaza. The issue has prompted some artists to step boldly into the political ring and others to shield their professional identities from scrutiny and public discourse—with each camp drawing fierce backlash.

After a brief summer hiatus, the RA Exchange returns with a new season, launching with Palestinian DJ Sama’ Abdulhadi, who addresses all this and more in a charged interview. The Ramallah-born artist has since gone on to tour non-stop internationally, regularly appearing alongside some of her idols growing up, such as Richie Hawtin and Nicole Moudaber. She's also no stranger to RA: in 2023, she graced the cover of this magazine and, just this summer, contributed to our drop of RA.1000 anniversary mixes.

This interview, though, is the most outspoken Abdulhadi has ever been. She shares her take on what's happened since October 7th, including her assessment of how and where the music industry, and her peers, have fallen short; the pressure she feels to be a global spokesperson for Palestine; why she feels that the revolutionary spirit has drained from a subculture built from resistance; and how, despite it all, she retains a sense of optimism and forward momentum. "This mix to be honest was sort of spontaneous. I have perfectionistic habits, and I could sit in bandcamp, discogs, and rekordbox fretting & obsessing for hours trying to curate a "cool set" but this one for me was revisiting music that I deeply appreciate and was already sitting on various playlists on my flash drive. In a time when things are uncertain and we might be feeling fearful or maybe stifled, this mix and its spontaneity to me connects to my spirit, my taste, and what I love and appreciate about House & Techno during hard times" - D

Wolfskuill starts 2016 with a bang, introducing three emerging artists to the label on one fat various artists EP. Discrete Circuit, Rumah, and Nettling take the stage delivering one track each to showcase each one of their personal styles.
Opening the EP, Discrete Circuit wastes no time and launches straight into a rapid and incessant bassline, matched with some raw claps 'Gamma Decay' follows suit in his unfiltered style after debuting on Delsin last year.
On the flip side Rumah dives deeper into the realm of sound with 'I'm Sick Until They Sack Me' letting loose oscillating chords into the atmosphere while Nettling's 'Cycle' exudes the energy of static electricity.
All three tracks put forward a fresh enthusiasm to any dance floor.

Discrete Circuit has made a significant impact in Berlin's electronic music scene as a promoter, producer, DJ, and label owner. Shaped by the creative vibrancy of Berlin, the soul of Detroit, and UK's dark aesthetics, he draws inspiration to keep forging his sonic identity.
