Going to Louisiana

Mid-80's I had one of those 4 track cassette port-a-studios in the basement and would just crank out demos. This is one with Donny Horvath on guitar and keyboards. I think it was my Zappa phase?

More basement recording. Donnie had left the synthesizer behind and I got messing with it and came up with this. Either my Genesis/Renaissance period or I had listened to too much Alan Parson Project.

Half Night Chumming Blues

Cannibal Jack Demo. Hired to play a club, opening for The Frogs somewhere in the early 80's. Their house band, Whitehouse had gone down the road to another club for more money. Turned out out it was Disco. As a rock band, we got about 2 songs in and the owner fired us. Frogs got up, about 2 songs in, and the owner fired them. Bedlam ensued and the owner agreed to pay us all for one night and get the hell out. Went home and wrote this tune. Our fans used to request this song by chanting.....Burn It Down!!

Burn Down the Disco

Cannibal Jack Demo - Boys in the Band. Lyrics were just me thinking out loud how hard it is to keep a band together. John Franklin once said to me, "we've all done this before, don't make this game a chore". I had the song.
