This limited edition 12 inch vinyl features four original compositions recorded especially for Record Store Day. Inspired by the different traditions of work songs worldwide, the songs recreate the call of voices rising in unison to the beat of a hammer or to the syncopated grinding of grain on the threshing floor. In work songs rhythm is the hand clap that keeps time to the crash of an axe or the thud of a pestle on a stone mortar. Inspired as much by Southern Mediterranean vocal traditions as those of African American origins, these four new compositions showcase Faccini's customary and original music without frontiers.

Islands

A haunted machine built from bass and dust. The Needle Wound is where horror meets rhythm—dark electronic grooves tangled in feedback, static, and decay. Every track drips with analog corrosion: deep 808s shaking the floorboards, cracked snares echoing through ghostly reverb, and turntables screaming through layers of grime. This isn’t clean music—it’s physical sound, alive and trembling. Scratches cut through low-end like knives, reversed drones drag across the stereo field, and every loop feels like a ritual gone wrong. The atmosphere is claustrophobic yet hypnotic: flickering lights, vinyl dust in the air, and the pulse of something that won’t die. Each song breathes, stalls, and gasps—haunting in its imperfection, cinematic in its collapse. The Needle Wound is the sound of haunted machines trying to remember music, one scratch at a time.

I really like this cover from Sarah Close, so I decided to remix it, While still keeping the vibe from the cover, I had some problems making this due to the tempo not syncing in some parts, so I could only include the parts that I managed to chop up and fit, But I still hope you will like this remix as it is <3

"It’s been almost a year since my last multiple track release. I think my music has changed exponentially for the better in that time, and I’m proud of these tracks as I think they display a new vision for what Toy Box music will be in the future. Once you listen I’m sure you will notice that the tracks are considerably different from each other, however I hope you enjoy the certain signature sound that I believe I have been developing.  I initially wrote all the music on the mandolin and then transcribed it to all the different instruments.  The vocals are recordings of myself or others and I hope the melodies get stuck in your head. I tried to lean more towards the acoustic/real-life aspects of sounds, but obviously there is a significant amount of electronic elements involved. I mastered them all myself, but got some feedback from some producer friends.  These tracks were made on airplanes, bus rides, in my living room, the library, etc. I’ve been taking a lot of influence from Odesza, Bonobo, Emancipator, and Flume, but obviously wanting to make the EP as different and my own as possible. All in all, I just hope you really enjoy these sounds and share them with your friends!"
