With releases for Digital Soundboy, Love & Other and This Ain’t Bristol under his belt (the latter reaching #1 on the Beatport chart) and more as his drum and bass alias Kindred, not to mention celebrated production work for the likes of Little Simz and Meridian Dan, Jakwob might just be one of the most prolific producers in the UK. Now he’s back with something a little different: a brand new EP for Twin Turbo, the all-digital all-banger offshoot of Tiga’s Turbo Recordings. ‘Feel So Good’ is set for release on 1st July 2016, mastered by none other than Turbo stalwart and Bavaria’s finest Zombie Nation.

‘Feel So Good’ is a pneumatic stomper with irresistible synth flourishes and skittering hi hats that sees Jakwob crash head first into full-on peak time dancefloor territory. You can see why the track blew up at Miami this year having been handed to a select handful of DJs, and why Jakwob aka James Jacob can count Diplo, Todd Edwards, Skrillex, Busy P, Sinden, Claude Von Stroke and Justin Martin amongst his growing number of fans.

The EP also sees Jakwob revisit his recent collaboration with enigmatic London beatmaker HiFe on the rolling ‘Excuse Me’, with the pair having previously worked together on ‘People Walk’ for Love & Other. Icy, atmospheric banger ‘Skup’ and an extended acid remix from Dutch newcomer and Turbo’s newest signing TRACE7000 completes the four-track package.

Speaking about the release, Turbo don Tiga commented, “Feel So Good has been one of the biggest tracks for me over the past few months, and the TRACE7000 is actually my favorite record of the moment. Vintage Turbo party bombs.”

Aus release more music than pretty much any other label on earth, which is great if you, like us here at THUMP, are really into club-ready house music that comes in as many flavours as those new fizzy drink machines you get at places like Five Guys. You know the ones we mean; the contraptions that let you rot your teeth in an amazing array of ways. The modern world is brilliant! 

Their latest 12" sees imprint-owner Will Saul working alongside long term label favourite Komon on the fantastically lithe "Harmonise," a rollocking roller that's more suited to greenhouses than warehouses. 

The B-side sees a pair of big, big remixes. The first comes from Juju & Jordash who take things down a slightly more acidic path, leading us to imagine what exactly would happen if one was to feed a venus fly trap a tab or seven of good, strong acid? Presumably very little, really, but don't EVER deny yourself that kind of flight of fantasy. Plants on drugs...imagine!

Moving swiftly on, the other remix comes from one of the classiest men on the circuit—Mr. Nick Höppner. As you'd expect from a man whose productions and DJ sets redefine the idea of "chic, sleek, European house and techno," he's turned in a reworking so effortlessly cool that repeated exposure has the potential to freeze you to your own sofa. We reckon it's worth the risk.

Exclusive Chinaski 'Zeichen Der Zeit'

Frankfurt based DJ and producer Stefan Chinaski has realized the signs of the times and follows his intuition of creating mindful music that can be classified as a mixture of 80s synth-industrial influences and mental futuristic soundscapes. Starting off with a bare synth-chord, which is set with a spacey spheric tapestry of sound the bassline sets in after fairly a minute. Subsequently the prior introduced synth-chord receives accoustic gain by implementing a second multi-note synth that adds both to the track: a nostalgic 80s vibe and an encouraging futuristic approach that not only peaks in the break but gains further sound-support as if Captain Future slipped into a new spacesuit. Where many fail and when a track is exposed to either be a 'tool' or a 'weapon', Chinaski decides for the latter as he uses the heavy synth from the beginning to continue 'Zeichen Der Zeit' after the break. Therefore the track gains another push that maintains its tension throughout the track.

EXCLUSIVE: Chinaski - Zeichen Der Zeit [Riotvan]

Dutch duo Abstract Division (aka Paul Boex and Dave Miller) present ‘Aftermath EP’, a four track package due *release date* on the eponymous imprint from Milan based collective Just This. Featured in the release are remixes from Peter Van Hoesen and VRIL. 
Title track is a subtle dancefloor killer with funky cyclic rhythms and peculiar harmonies, followed by ‘Isolated’, a subdued yet dizzying dose of syncopated drums and crystalline melodic inflections. 
For his interpretation of ‘Isolated’, VRIL mutates the stripped back hypnotism of the original into a maximal, angular workout, whilst Peter Van Hoesen focuses on the dizzying loops of the original, repurposing them into an immersive spiral of funk driven techno. 
‘Aftermath EP’ fuses elements of ambient and soulful techno for an understated but powerful package.
