Oscillum

Symphony Of Doom is an acousmatic piece made of limited range of sonic material. It's a sound portrait of the Congress Palace in Vilnius. I made soundscape recordings of the life happening in the building - rehearsing orchestra musicians, fire siren, construction sounds (because currently the building is closed for a reconstruction), elevator and so on - everything my recorder could catch while I was wandering around the building. I laid out the material in search of hidden rhythmic, timbre and melodic structures and processed it with as few electronic tools as possible as to preserve the authenticity of the original sounds. Aesthetics of the piece are inspired by lo-fi noise music, especially artist's Lingua Ignota noise projects.
