About 6 minutes of me noodling on guitar with a trippy signal path, over a beatbox loop thing I made.

I was agitated and I made something I feel is phat. hence the title.

Agiphat

This initially felt a little over-the-top like faux-shred glossy-smooth-jazz, but then I realized it reminded me of video game music like Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, so that made me really like the final product. But all that aside, I do really like the trumpet shit I laid down and the little guitar noise I made with the slide and squeal. Oh and the high-pitched odd-number-of-bars phrase, THAT's getting used somewhere. I plan to do something with these riffs in a slightly different musical context later, so I thought I'd upload this for posterity. Here's to not forgetting them.

I attempted to write a simple phaser guitar effect in Overtone. I messed it up in a simple way, but it sounded so interestingly goofy that I decided to record a bit and share before I move on to fixing the effect.

the delay time is controlled by the amplitude of the guitar signal, multiplied by 100. The guitar amplitude fluctuates wildly, so there's a lag of 30 seconds applied to the control.

Driving a SEGA Genesis with MIDI, thanks to wonderful technology made by other great humans. Here are all 4 oscillators on the Yamaha chip singing in parallel, not modulating each other. When you run them in series modulating each other, you get some real tasty classic noise, but I'll share that later.

SuperCollider patterns driving the SEGA, this time with the oscillators chained FM'ing each other. Feed it into an RC-505, beatbox a little, here's a tiny slice.

I play music with friends. I relocated from Seattle, WA to New Orleans, LA in 2017 to play weird fusion music with jazz musicians using SuperCollider. I don't think anybody cares, but an artist must art.
