I-F (Interr-Ference) is in a class of one for his tireless and enduring devotion to music of all descriptions. It's a cold hard fact that few DJs have his knowledge of sound. It stems from him being the founding father of cult radio community CBS and being the driving force behind Intergalactic FM - the radio show from the Dutch West Coast that champions old, new, rare, and obscure sounds from italo to techno, horror soundtracks to house, and is online 24/7. As if that wasn't enough, I-F also owns and runs two influential labels, Viewlexx and Murdercapital, which in turn help him to set and define trends way ahead of the curve. His passion for sound is unbridled, and that unadulterated love always shines though in the inimitable DJ sets he performs all around the world.

Música que encierra en su síntesis, en su estructura y en el subjetivo mensaje recibido tanta melancolía como seas capaz de captar para tu escucha en el presente. Una formación nada dada a prodigarse a nivel discogs y menos aún a nivel actuaciones, pero que sin embargo sigue muy presente en la historia musical de quien se ha ido haciendo mayor con ellos.

Un recorrido que va más allá de su propia carrera para adentrarnos en cuanto te puede llegar a impactar una melodía, y como esta te acompaña allí donde vayas de un modo latente, empicándose su sentir cuando una imagen, un holor, o un tacto te recuerda aquel tiempo pasado, donde a la vez fundías el disco hasta aprenderte la última cola de reverb.

Sonidos game changer substraídos para formar piezas que forman a su vez unos albunazos que son historias a las que empaisajar con el mentote. Unos muestreos que humanizan una fórmula de otro planeta, no sin antes haber sido enritmados por líneas de batería que huelen a tantos palos como quieras nombrar. Unos dicen que es IDM, otros trip-hop, otros braindance, etc... nada de eso, es sonido BOC, "esto suena a BOC" dicen los modernos sabiondos, refiriéndose a esa manera de proceder tan íntima y prácticamente inimitable de pensar la música, sintetizarla y después secuenciarla...

artist statement: "Music has maybe been the only enjoyable escape for me during the pandemic, and my relationship to it has taken on a new shape given that I only listen at home alone, mainly on headphones, and at odd hours. I’ve used Ableton to DJ for over a decade now, and this mix is no exception—though I wanted to do something different here, given these new listening patterns. So this is more of a 'mega mix’ style studio session, with lots of layering, edits, and quick transitions. A bit phrenetic, but the intention was to reflect some of the unease and uncertainty of the moment, while revisiting tracks I played at my last two in-person gigs in New York alongside many favorites from my years growing up in Chicago." @ken-meier
