OK, let's make one thing clear right away: don't even consider this one of our songs! 🤣 We mean, we didn’t exactly put much effort into making it! Simply put, Mary (the guitarist) had shouted out this word (with no meaning, it’s just the sound a zombie makes in an old video game), which in Italian sounds a bit like "Udò!" (we transliterated it as Oodaw in English, especially because it contains the word DAW🤪), Mauro (the keyboardist) had sampled it and from there, he started messing around with it, and everyone else followed suit!🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦
And here it is, in just a few minutes this 'thing' was born! 🤪 Tom’s final comment (the lead singer, who luckily doesn't sing in this... thing!) and Mary's heartfelt response, with Mauro’s evil laugh in the background, we decided to leave it in (obviously in Italian, so no one can understand, which is better🧏🏻‍♀️), just to completely ruin our reputation! Hi everyone! 🙌 This time we're moving from the lightness of Chiptune (https://soundcloud.com/beatingedge/pink-chubby-creature) to something more reflective, something that concerns most of us, or at least those lucky (or unlucky) enough to live long enough to grow old. This song was inspired by a visit to a retirement home. Musically, it's kind of the spiritual child of our previous track "I lost her to a previous version of me" (https://soundcloud.com/beatingedge/i-lost-her-to-a-previous).
👉"Now and Here" is a meditation on aging, presence, and how quickly everything slips through our fingers. It starts in the softness of awareness and builds into a cry for recognition, for meaning, for being seen while there’s still time. We’ve all met someone who used to shine and now barely gets noticed. Maybe we fear becoming that person ourselves.
No fancy tricks here. Just lyrics that hit close to home and a melody that carries them with honesty. It’s a piece for those who’ve ever looked back and wondered where the time went, or forward and felt a chill.

"Asteroids (The Original Was Better)" is the result of a spontaneous and fun collab between our friend and amazing musician Joe Stroffolino (https://soundcloud.com/joseph-stroffolino) and Beating Edge. Joe heard our chiptune track RND (https://soundcloud.com/beatingedge/rnd-instrumental-chiptune), got inspired by it, and wrote some lyrics based on the classic arcade game Asteroids. He added his voice and acoustic guitar over it, and sent it our way.
We loved it and decided to jump in too, building a second part with a more rock-driven vibe, using the same chiptune idea as inspiration. We stitched everything together into a single track, kicking things off with a fun spoken intro, a short vocal transition between the parts, and closing with a wild, over-the-top outro.

Everything Changed (But Me) is the first chapter of our brand new apocalyptic trilogy.😅
The video shows a strange, purple sky filled with terrifying clouds. People are running, looking up, screaming... but we never really understand what’s going on. In the end, our guitarist wakes up from what seems like a nightmare, but she doesn’t look to her right, where the purple storm is real, outside her window. So maybe she isn’t dreaming at all. 
The song plays with two layers. One is global, unsettling, and chaotic. The other is much more personal and introspective.
The world is changing, inside and out.
Little technical side note: this song really gave us a hard time, too many incompatible gears, but we made it in the end! It should sound decent enough!

Our identities are top-secret, forgive us, we're a bunch of very shy aliens🛸 (4 males 💁🏻‍♂️🙎‍♂️🙋🏼‍♂️🦸🏼‍♂️ and 1 female🙅‍♀️, the guitarist/backup singer). Our earthly names (and nicknames) are Tom ("Lucifer" - lead vocals and occasional keyboards/guitar), Mary ("Vampira" or just "V" - guitarist and backing vocals), Mauro ("Maux" - keyboards, piano, synths and winds), Davide ("Dave", "Quiet D" or just "D" - bass and synth bass), and Valerio ("Brad", drums and percussions). And you definitely DON'T want to know the origin of some of our nicknames!😅
