Mood Series #84 takes us deep down under with 4 tracks of blazing dub techno escapes for the adventurous. Astralure is an Australian based producer who is new to our label. 'Echo Lock' is primed for dancefloor domination. 'Not Distracted' opens up the EP with a short but sweet trek into rhythmic dub techno. Slightly Detroit inspired but clearly not the normal sound you would hear. Especially from Australia. This is next left representation. 'Shake the Shadow' is a slow hooker that draws in deep to the subterranean groove that sounds one-part mechanical and one-part subharmonic funk. This is unique to say the least! The title track has the most classically trained dub components and overall feel to it. Sonically, it feels sub planted deep in an aquatic realm among itself. Everything reverberates with a slow wobble and shimmer to a very cool effect. We are swimming with a smile on this one! 'Sync-out' is the most chord structured to be affected under this heavy dose of echo and reverb treatment. The beat is consistent and pumping while things make you feel out of sorts or 'out of sync' beneath. Another creative track that completes this standout new EP and artist to the series. We welcome and thank Astralure for bringing a different flavor to our discography. This is something to be heard!
