“When I was asked about the mix around a year ago, I already had some records that I wanted to play in mind. My intent was to showcase some swedish sounds, but of course I couldn’t just keep to that. Like the australian record for example, or the fake reggae track in the middle. 

My goal with the mix was to create that sunny feeling that, especially us people in scandinavia, long for during the harsh winter months. And I think that I succeeded with my blend of dub, jamaican grooves, hiphop, UK street soul records, and of course a token italo track.”

Among the many reasons why we convene In this place of aural sharing, loving and enjoying, having new guests to showcase their gifts is obviously the main one. We prize in bringing people from all over this vast world of musical wonder in which we all dwell to the attention of an audience that might be far away or close by, but one that relies on our steady offering of delightfully diverse sounds. It is by bridging this gap that this space finds its purpose, by joining the eagerness of everyone involved: from the avid listeners and dancers to the dedicated selectors. Offering this opportunity for both to meet and delight, enriching each other in the process, is what motivates us to keep doing it and every episode presents a renewed vow to that noble effort and everyone that takes part in it. Artists as devoted as Foie Gras, who helms this episode, vividly represent this commitment, not only for being the type of gifted player we love to have, but also one that shares this sense of mission in all of his projects. Platforms such as Pachanga, a haven for lovers of rhythms from varied parts of the timespace continuum of global dance music whose curatorial wealth is much the brainchild of its creator as it is the fruit of the dedication of its many contributors. And the common thread that runs through all of our endeavours is the result of the same labour of love, one that makes more than likeminded folks pursuing a similar goal, it makes us kindred spirits with a common mission.
