The new fire ceremony was, in central Mexico, in pre-Hispanic times, a set of religious rituals that took place every 52 years during the last hours of the calendar cycle called "xiuhmolpilli (ligature of years) to ensure that a new cycle of 52 years begins again, that the stars do not stop their course and that the world does not sink into darkness.

The preparations for the ceremony began in the last five days of the final year of the cycle. These preparations included respect for silence, abstinence from work and purification rituals such as fasting, self-sacrifices. It was believed that during those days the world was in grave danger due to the instability inherent in moving from one cycle to another.

On the last day of the year, at sunset, a procession of priests of the worship of the god of fire Huehueteotl started from the Templo Mayor, the ceremonial center of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, and took the causeway of Tlacopan towards a mountain called Huixachtlan.

Wākhan Project is a time-traveler from the year 3040. Inhabitant of a city called Kalapa. Kalapa was once a lively metropolis, today it is a jungle perched on ruins. The few inhabitants live in harmony with nature. There is only one remaining language in the world, Malaka. Wakhan Project sits down with us and tells his story, in this foreign language, and yet we understand every single word without any problems.

The branches and leaves would lash him across the face, and he and his two cows BREGER & TIMBOLETTI would move out for a spicy lunch. The undergrowth crackles and the leaves tremble in time. If you hold your breath and listen carefully, you will notice there is something strange going on in the woods of La Tempestad. And if you are curious enough to follow the hidden path into the thick forest, you will find them, sitting around a colorful campfire, preparing some kind of cosmic tea. There is Juliano Gomez, holding the pot, slowly pouring hypnotic sounds and tribal grooves. Dieses Mal geht es nicht um die Schiffe der Seawatch, die wir mit dem letzten Solisampler unterstützt haben. Unser eigenes Schiff schwankt, angesichts der aktuellen Lage und steht stillgelegt in seinem Heimathafen. Daher haben wir uns entschlossen, Freund*innen und Crewmitglieder*innen zum Produzieren zu animieren und diese Soundsammlung dann als Soli Sampler für einen humanen Einklaufspreis auf Bandcamp zu stellen. Pawn-tastic! A huge mob of sound pirates* has agreed to produce fine music for the fourth and so far biggest Kopfüber sampler.

This time it's not about the Seawatch ships we supported with the last soli sampler. Our own ship is wavering, given the current situation and stands idle in its home port. Therefore we decided to encourage friends and crew members to produce and then put the collected sounds on Bandcamp as a soli-sampler for a humane price. Any income will be used to secure the monthly rent for our Verwirrtshaus!

We are looking forward to your support to keep our project running in times like these. Future samplers will be free downloads again!

Pilakh is the bridge in a tanpura 
Exactly a year back Krutartha came for my gig in Bombay, before that he would send me his music, that day at the gig we instantly hit it off in our music taste and outlook towards music etc so then we decided to collaborate and that's how we made Pilakh. After a lot of email exchanges and me travelling to Bombay it finally got done. Krutartha's family is into Indian classical music so that helped us in understanding the Raagas more which we have used in the track.. As for the Sarangi and sitar, both of us were very keen on using some classical Indian instruments. Wanted to make a blend of meditative and dance music
About the collaboration between Kosa and Lump, it's really exciting as I never imagined my track releasing on two big labels with artists from around the world making remixes.. It opens doors to more collaborations between artists and labels in the future and it's a privilege to see our names associated with both of the labels and artists, whose music we really resonate with.
