One of two remixes of 'Keep On' from the 2003 Above the Clouds Recordings' single by London production duo the Bone Idols featuring US rapper Aphletik and the UK's one and only Ty (RIP). Pencilled for a release at the time but ultimately never released.

We gladly present to you to second volume of ‘Bridging the Gap’. This time round, instead of combining about 55 different musical pieces or pieces of musical pieces together in a 60-minute mix, we decided to use a little bit over 100. 

The mix includes a tribute to the classic breaks mixes in the form of mixing and cutting up newer renditions of iconic songs; a tribute to Jay Dee; a tribute to MF DOOM who is to both of us one of the most extravagant and influential MCs of all time; and a tribute to Double K from People Under The Stairs who is to both of us a real unsung hero of hip-hop. May these three colossuses rest in peace.

Apart from that, there is the mandatory good amount of lesser-known breaks and grooves across rap, funk and disco, plus this time we also ventured into neo soul and afrobeat. 

We would like to thank Moneyshot, Static and Professor Groove from WeFunk Radio, Jazz T, Oonops and the Cut Beetlez whose shoutouts you can briefly hear sprinkled throughout the mix. In the intro you’ll hear us being called “giants in the game” which we surely do not live up to. Students of the craft - this we’ll always be.

Dusty Donuts is hitting from all angles at the moment. On this Limited release we see UK producer savant Sam Krats team up with one of New Jersey’s finest, one half of the Artifacts, El Da Sensei. El has got flow for days over the quirky, stand up bass driven track by Krats. This is boom bap in it’s purest form. On the flip side, Jim Sharp takes the reigns on production and hits the mark with a Native Tongues-eque string laden beat. Jim teams up with UK emcee Gee Bag to drop a verse on the remix, making this a true transatlantic collaboration. With flavours for the basement and the BBQ, this is another Dusty Donuts sure shot.

Mr Bee & Benito Turntable sont tous deux originaires de la région parisienne et férus de Hip Hop depuis leur adolescence. Ils se rencontrent à l'Antirouille (ancienne place forte du Hip Hop à Paris) en 2008 où ils commencent à mixer leurs disques vinyles pour la première fois en public, au départ séparément puis l'alchimie faisant le reste ils fondent ensemble l'association Native Songs, clin d'oeil au collectif qui les a façonné, et organisent plusieurs soirées ensemble sur la capitale.
En 2011, Benito s'exile à Montréal, suivi un an plus tard par Mr Bee qui le rejoint de l'autre côté de l'Atlantique, mais dans une ville frontalière du Canada: Detroit City, la patrie de Jay Dee aka J Dilla !
L'histoire de ce mix débute fin 2015 entre Noël et nouvel an, période au cours de laquelle Bee rend visite à Benito emportant avec lui une sélection de disques Hip Hop instrumentales, les 2 compères s'enferment ensemble quelques jours pendant une tempête de neige et concoctent un mix "Instru Mental" d'une quarantaine de tracks : https://soundcloud.com/benito-turntable/benito-mr-bee-instru-mental.
Voici l'épisode 2 qui poursuit l'aventure suivant le même concept en se nourrissant de leurs découvertes Hiphopologiques et évolutions musicales personnelles au cours de ces 4 dernières années. Seule différence: ce nouvel opus a été enregistré à distance, Mr Bee étant revenu vivre à Paris depuis.
