Peace everyone! Been a minute since I dropped a full beat tape like this and it's one of my favorites (in quite awhile) - This is def for the "beat heads" and is a perfect backdrop for daily activities, or inspiration for a cypher, etc. FREE DL. Hope you all dig it!

For this one I flipped a bunch of joints composed by "Agent X". Super dope music maker - the songs often sound like real songs instead of just loops for beat makers to flip. If you into digging records but hate most samples packs (like me) def check out his collection. Everything used in this beat tape is available to the public.

Note: Some songs may disappear, be used in future releases, change, etc

No Past, No Future (Full Beat Tape with Agent-X)

I am pleased to announce that Volume 2 of my “Essential Knowledge” mixtape is finally available as a free download and limited edition cassette (only 100 made). This music will not be available on any other major streaming platforms (such as Spotify, Apple Music, etc).  

Essential Knowledge Volume 2 continues where volume 1 left off - with a special twist - I teamed up with the legendary “DJ Grazzhoppa'' to complete the tape. First I sent him Volume 1 and explained the concept. After he agreed to team up with me on it, I ended up sending him a folder of beats that he turned into an hour mix (blended live). After hearing it and giving the green light he went in and did most of the remixes you hear (live and on vinyl). To wrap it up I ended up taking the recordings he did and sprinkling in some skits, extra remixes, extra FX, etc. What you get is a seamless blend of beats, remixes, skits, scratch routines, and more. I also worked with the same artist (Barf Comics / James Callahan) and graphic designer (WeztMaad / Jesus Nefario) from Volume 1 to bring the package to life. To me, this is my best (at least my favorite) attempt at a project like this - I believe it’s a true successor to Volume 1 and I can’t wait to hear what you all think.

Here's another quick jam to vibe out to from my "Inspired By" sessions - For those who missed last week I am finally starting to play my bass again. My new bass teacher suggested that I start playing along with beats that I like and it became this new thing where I do my best to make a new beat with similar vibe as the original or at least inspired by it. To be honest it's really hard for me to get it to sound like the beat I'm mimicking but so far I'm still learning a lot and have a blast doing it. I'm not much of a piano player or musician so trying to replay the samples is funny to say the least. I'm trying to get better though. This is one of my favorite Pete Rock beats and my version of it doesn't really come close to catching the real special vibe of the original - But I think it has its own vibe now instead of just being a cover or copy. Things have been kinda crazy for me lately so it's been hard to spend time creating new material - I've been practicing for shows, working on albums and singles to release, doing mixes etc on top of regular life stuff.
