This block at Woodpecker, as part of the Carnival Programme, we focused our lyrics on Belonging. We discussed being part of a community and the meaning of truly feeling at home. The beat & lyrics were all created & recorded from scratch by: Liam, Baba, Esther, Jayden, Mya & Kehinde 🎵✨🎤

Week 2 of the Woodpecker Carnival Programme was so inspiring!
Beats Lab delivered a week long workshop at Woodpecker Youth Club for the 12-19s. We created our own Dancehall track, using Beats Lab loops in Logic. We wrote our own original lyrics about Black Lives Matter and how beautiful it is to be black, collaborated with professional soul duo Nelle and Noel, recorded and engineered our own vocals and explored a number of production techniques to apply to our creation.

Many thanks to all our talented producers, vocalists, sound engineers and musicians for creating and collaborating on this heartfelt and inspiring piece of original work. Thank you Jayden, Baba, Kenza and Joy.
