Taking a step into different territory and paired with a bit more emotive vocals from Reki*, "Tug-of-WAR" has a bit of that oldschool soul feel to it. Written from the standpoint of a relationship, whether it be romantic, friendship, family, etc., that you can't do without...if only the two of you could see eye-to-eye; we all know what that's like, we've all been there, in which the only saving grace is the unconditional love shared by both parties. The song explores said themes in a playful manner, permeating into one of the two egos that refuses to yield to the other's views and opinions. Though the resistance is mutual, it's hard to see both sides of the story when only ONE voice is all that dictates the outcome of everything else.

Taking a step into unfamiliar territory, Reki* pairs up with a triune of DJs for this tropical house number entitled "BREATHE", in which the listener is invited into a far off realm of musical rhapsody and perceptible dance euphoria. The story is told from a rather beseeching point of view, in which Reki* somewhat audaciously sings to his love interest what it means to feel the way he does about them; and how the very air he inhales and expels is in many ways the paradoxical manner in which that person seizes and receives that same breath - the breath of life. By imploring his lover to take a gamble on the possibility and potentiality of what they've found, Reki* finds his vulnerability to not only prove somewhat polarizing by declaring giving his last breath to this person if granted the circumstance, but in the same token, contains the same amount of deliverance and emancipation, the most exhilarating rush of his life. After all, is love not the biggest contradiction of the human experience?

Remember that the best way out of something is always through it; and that sometimes our own worst enemy is the one we create within ourselves. 

In what starts off as somewhat sonically experimental and incorporating elements of spoken word poetry, Reki* further explores the bright and chromatic genre of EDM, with Nautolus and DJ Ravie once again at the helm. Written as a testimony and ode to the inexterminable human spirit (and extracted from his own personal past tribulations), "Verdant" takes the listener through precarious terrain, metaphorical situations, and often times disconcerting self-realiztion, both musically and lyrically, in an attempt to uplift the audience and aid them in becoming cognizant to or reminded of their own unbreakable essence in the face of distress, hardship, and uncertainty. The production begins a bit mid-tempo, bare and computerized and later morphs into a more voltaic, momentous dance track as it progresses, prompting Reki* to shift from speaking to singing, and creating quite the juxtaposition of heterogeneous emotions due to its lyrical and symbolic content, yet up-tempo rhythm and frolic pace. In this dance/EDM number, Reki*'s "Verdant" is sure to gratify your imagination and third eye as you navigate your own personal woods.

In the final single to complete the triad of releases assembled by DJ Ravie & Nautolus, Reki* is bestowed the lyrical help of songwriter Evelyn Amador Manoz "in these COUNTLESS GAMES". Melancholic in its themes and up-tempo in its production, "COUNTLESS GAMES" reaches for the worst in us as creatures of habit, as Reki* woefully vocalizes the torment of having one's emotions toyed with by another. The song opens with "Sweet love / Look in my eyes / The windows to my heart and soul / Feel my paradise", as if Reki* is making despondent attempts to coerce his lover into realization that he's perhaps "The One"; the lines then succeed and metamorphose in tone with "Take me into your dreams / Illusioned by your beating heart / But nothing's ever what it seems", as almost to suggest that Reki* himself is becoming sentient of this sophist's true intent and that, if anything, he is at fault for perpetually feeding them the same attention, elevating his hopes, and incessantly ending right back at heart break. In this stunning electronic/EDM conclusion, old habits may die hard, but a fool's paradise ultimately dies harder.
