Each year, 24 people from around the world are assigned a time of day and tasked with creating a mix or playlist that corresponds to their designated hour. Together, we collectively create a full 24 hours of music designed to provide a soundtrack for an entire day—start to finish.

2019 - 24 Hours of Music Project

Live recording! I had the pleasure of playing the midnight slot at the FnF Fall Freak Fest campout just outside Yosemite. Played some tech house bangers in a beautiful setting on a killer sound system (waveworks) and unreal visuals from Radiant Atmospheres. Bit techier than usual for me, but it's still got that kem signature sound and mxing.

I was recently selected to take part in a project where 24 DJs were chosen to make a mix for a certain hour of the day..In the end all the mixes will be hosted in one place to provide a full day/nights soundtrack.
 I was given 2am to 3am...I figured that I would start off high energy to keep the party going but slowly progress into some weird stuff toward the end..I hope you enjoy this concoction I have made..It was fun to play some things I normally may not play out and also play some of my fav bangers...Shout out to Beau Gaerlan for bringing me in on this.

24 Hours of Music - 2019

00:00-01:00 : Bump and Flow

This mix — my first participation in the 24 hour mix project — represents a passage through darkness.

As a nightowl, ever since I was young, creative energy would strike like lightning in the dark of night. A siren’s song, the call to adventure from a seductive muse — I had no choice but to answer. I would set sail into the night, fueled by inspiration, determined.

During these creative benders, momentum would carry over for 2-3 hours past midnight without hesitation. And then, at some blurred point between 3 and 4, the wind would subside, the sails would empty, and storm clouds would begin to form.

04:00 – 05:00 to me has always been the most challenging hour. As delirium begins to set in, it takes the utmost effort to continue on the original charter. Tumultuous and like a tunnel with no end in sight, it truly feels like the darkest point. But it’s always darkest just before the dawn: as stillness sets in, the birds begin to wake and stormy skies clear for deliverance. 

This mix reflects the energy, weirdness, delirium and pertinacity required for that passage. Curated lovingly over late nights, I hope you find creative inspiration and beauty in this hour.

This is a point in time bookended by the frenetic morning rush and the infinite potential of a day.
Our ritual day dream. 
In this time, we reminisce.

In this time, we surrender.

It's the 'organic house' set from me that you didn't know you needed. :-P

Thanksgiving weekend helped open up for Lee Burridge 2 days in a row at Midway's 'Outdoor Dining' events, so was a chance to play differently than my usual sound.  119 BPM is not my usual vibe, but loved switching it up. 

It was all new to me music, so you might hear a couple mixing flaws, but loved being able to stay in the mix with nice long transitions, and steady dreamy grooves.  As a deeper set, a good one for re-listens.  Let me know what you think!
