Dark Science Electro presents: Top 10 Of 2014

Sebastian Swarm is a Glasgow-based DJ, musician, and visual artist. In 2014, he co-founded Lunacy, a record label and underground warehouse party that transformed an old sweetie factory into an infamous after-hours haven for adventurous dancers in Glasgow and beyond. His sound traverses from the offbeat oddities of his radio residencies on Clyde Built Radio and Marseille's Station Ola to the high-octane energy of Italo, Wave, and Electro. 

Swarm’s music has found homes on notable labels such as Land of Dance, Meta Moto, Aperitif De La Mort, and Huntleys & Palmers, alongside a remix for the post-psychedelic band Abrasive Trees. With more releases on the horizon for 2025, his presence in the electronic scene continues to grow. He’s performed at clubs & festivals across Europe, including Kelburn Psychedelic Forest Disco, Riverside Festival, Crack Bellmer, and OHM in Berlin. In 2024, Swarm launched Glass Tank, a unique platform spotlighting the vibrant cultural pulse of Glasgow, hosting a whirlpool of creative talent nestled among the brewery tanks.

It opens with distant metallic sounds moving across space, like frozen air inside concrete walls. Then the pulse begins - subtle at first, then closer, heavier.

The groove doesn’t push you forward.
It pulls you in.

This track is about tension and surrender.
About letting the rhythm take control without even noticing it.

Music Is The Only Language I Really Know

Berlin-based @cursesforever blends New Wave and Post-Punk with his ghostly vocals and guitars, punctuated with flashes of 80's EBM and New Beat.
The debut album from Curses, 'Romantic Fiction' dropped on Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autunno imprint in October 2018, launching his live act which brings the guitars, vocals and energy of the album to stage as a duo.

Whether it's performing live at the late Andrew Weatherall's Convenanza Festival, or DJng in the main room at Circoloco DC-10, Curses manages to somehow bring his punk and new wave attitude to all dance floors small and big. Always keeping true to his unique mix of dark- 80's driven sound.
Curses has released a handful of EP's on labels such as Hoga Nord, Bordello A Parigi, Throne Of Blood, and his own imprint, Ombra International, and known for incorporating live guitars and instruments into his remix work.
A 2nd album is scheduled to release in 2021 on Dischi Autunno .
