Michael Torrez, (known as B-EAZY in the music world), is part of the collabed group: G5 Fly. His addition to this group has been as beneficial to their growth and development as their open door has been to his. These reciprocated benefits have built a collaborative powerhouse.
B-EAZY is originally from Roswell, New Mexico. Growing up, he watched as his parents struggled with a heroin addiction. It was not a rarity to see needles or drugs lying around whichever temporary establishment they were at that month, week, or hour. The additional reality of a majority of his family having drug addictions and his grandmother being one of the biggest and untouched drug traffickers, did not help alleviate their problems. Although his grandmother was seen as a part of the problem by others, she was nonetheless a caring, loving, and irreplaceable caretaker as his mother was absent. His grandmother taught him the basic ideas of love and respect, trying to shield him from the harm of his mother's choices, but at the same time, trying to teach him that her choice to traffick was in favor of raising him and his sister. The mistakes of those around him provided him with insight for his future choices. Music has always allowed him to encounter a strength within himself that he thought was hindered due to family struggles. What he learned though, was that his family struggle strengthened them as a unit despite frequent separation. Although there was a lack of stability in the family over the years, their unconditional and genuine love for one another kept them close. While everyone could be missing from Michael's world as he found shelter from one place to another, music was never missing. Music never left his side, was never forgotten, and gave him the strength he needed to keep moving forward.
B-EAZY shadowed his uncle quite frequently in an attempt to be a part of someone's life. Here, he was exposed to the powerful properties of music. During early childhood is when music became an important component in his life. He was compelled by the way music was able to alter impossible situations with its beauty and therapeutic potential. He laughs as he reflects on one of his first written songs, yet can still pride himself in the all-around maturation his writing has underwent over the years. He refuses to leave the world of music as he knows with confidence, that he is a vital function to its world. His music allows him to tell a story and rid of hopelessness. His presence is felt in his music by all who are lucky enough to hear it.
Currently, he has yet to release his much-anticipated, first full album titled (Legend) <release date TBA> , but has released a duo of highly respected mixtapes titled (Red Rose Murder) and (Welcome 2 The Roots).
