A life-long friend of Toolroom since it’s inception and absolute legend of the electronic music scene, Shadow Child debuts on the label with ‘Rising High’. His career within this alias spans an impressive 12 years, kicking things off back in 2012 with ‘String Thing’; a record snapped up by Claude von Stroke’s Dirytbird label that simply took the dance world by storm.

From that point onwards a consistent flow of strong releases have appeared from his shadowy lair and been unleashed onto the dancefloors of the world to devastating effect. Labels including Hot Creations, Apollo Music and Moda Black have released his music, attracting a loyal fanbase in the process. Regular DJ spots include the mighty Fabric in London, Warehouse Project in Manchester and Motion in Bristol. This record fuses all of Shadow Childs passions; old skool rave, techno and let’s not forget that incredible vocal sample from ‘The Beloved’. Toolroom’s leading lady ESSEL returns to the label alongside fellow female powerhouse and talented DJ, producer and vocalist, Alex Mills. Because Of Art, the alias of London based producer Alex Grover, who has very quickly established himself as one of dance music's hottest new talents, hailing attention from ravers, DJs and tastemakers alike.

Alex has had successes across the entire spectrum of dance music, most recently for his rave inspired collaboration with Antony Szmierek ‘Circle Of Light’. ‘Circle Of Light’ received widespread support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music with multiple plays from Pete Tong, Jack Saunders, Sarah Story and Craig Charles. Spotify UK also championed the track across their editorial playlists including ‘Altar’ and ‘New Music Friday’. 

Outside of the studio and behind the decks, Because of Art is a growing name on the DJ circuit, most notably sharing bills with the likes of Franky Wah, Sven Väth, Dusky, Anja Schneider at Motion Bristol, Egg London and many more. Alex's DJ skills can be sampled in his mix for Sasha’s prestigious label ‘Last Night on Earth’, where he released ‘Home’ in 2022.
