‘Machine Therapy’ marks the first album from Alan Fitzpatrick in a decade, with standout debut collaborations including High Contrast and Kele, lead singer of platinum selling UK band Bloc Party.

Alan Fitzpatrick has had a remarkable career to date. Few artists can claim to have headlined Berghain and also had a hit on daytime BBC Radio 1, but then there aren’t many artists like Alan Fitzpatrick. 

One of the most popular techno DJs in the world, he has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Carl Cox and Adam Beyer for the best part of a decade, performing at the world’s biggest clubs and festivals. Known primarily for his raw hard-edged sound, Alan has developed into one of dance music’s most versatile producers, equally at home putting out techno bangers on Drumcode as he is making disco-infused house anthems, or experimental electronica under his 3STRANGE alias, not to mention his impressive range of collaborations (including CamelPhat, Skream and Jamie Jones). 

A proven global headliner and founder of one of the UK’s most exciting new dance imprints ‘We Are The Brave’, Alan now joins forces with the acclaimed UK label Anjunadeep for his most ambitious release to date, and his first album in ten years - ‘Machine Therapy’.
The name derives from the time Alan has spent in his home studio, with the hardware he has collected over the years, the machines offering a sort of therapy during the pandemic. The album sees Alan pull his wide-ranging sounds together into one, coherent project, combining techno, house, breaks and ambient. Drawing on the early days of rave for inspiration, along with the machinery, Alan has fused sci-fi sonics with emotional songs and dystopian samples, which alongside the artwork, transport the listener to his cinematic musical world.

The 90's hardcore rave nostalgia is highlighted in this iconic composition with the classic breakbeat sound which entwines with the smooth pads and soulful vocal.

The idea behind the song was to enlighten people's moods because of the lockdowns as everybody is feeling sad that they can't go to clubs, festivals or venues due to COVID-19. 

Dancin' is a very uplifting and catchy tune what anyone can dance to or sing along too. For me it's a track that sends an important message to people worldwide to keep on going and to stick together through music and of course by Dancin'.

Because Of Art, the alias of London based producer Alex Grover, who has very quickly established himself as one of dance music's hottest new talents, hailing attention from ravers, DJs and tastemakers alike.

Alex has had successes across the entire spectrum of dance music, most recently for his rave inspired collaboration with Antony Szmierek ‘Circle Of Light’. ‘Circle Of Light’ received widespread support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music with multiple plays from Pete Tong, Jack Saunders, Sarah Story and Craig Charles. Spotify UK also championed the track across their editorial playlists including ‘Altar’ and ‘New Music Friday’. 

Outside of the studio and behind the decks, Because of Art is a growing name on the DJ circuit, most notably sharing bills with the likes of Franky Wah, Sven Väth, Dusky, Anja Schneider at Motion Bristol, Egg London and many more. Alex's DJ skills can be sampled in his mix for Sasha’s prestigious label ‘Last Night on Earth’, where he released ‘Home’ in 2022. 

2023 is shaping up to be an exciting time for Because of Art, with forthcoming releases on Anjunadeep, Stress Records and more.
