an old attempt at some kind of poetry. thanks dad for playing it with me. 

lyrics: 
you look like last night’s rainstorm 
with the same ceiling and floor 
i led a trail of givens 
and spiders 

how and i awake when it’s still dark to see you
dogging my steps soon you’ll stand in my doorway 
your guard dog bit my tongue and threw my mother 
for a loop 
and i still lock my knees 

you ruined all your clothes 
with your saviour complex 
keeled and clutched your nose
you just tried to heal him 
does their perception ever choke you
like a necklace 
like a fishnet 
like a broken ankle would 

i let the callous tongue turn 
and kill your plants 
you hit your head, she cut your hair, i scarred your hands 

there in ruddy light, you never gave and answer 
you were being treated but my feet weren’t on the floor
smile glued to your teeth, and now you’re in my skeleton
i knew that you were dying.
