A small Orchestral piece I wrote with strong influences from Composers of Film Music including Hans Zimmer, James Horner and John Williams. Performed by the Composers' Orchestra at Edinburgh University.

Dénouement

The Nightingale and the Rose is a short children’s story by Oscar Wilde. The following piece is the opening of my mini-opera adaptation in which a Nightingale overhears a student sing of his lover and his need to find a red rose to win her affections. My music is kept simple yet elegant to try and capture the purity of Wilde’s tale, and with the aim of being enjoyed by children and appreciated by adults. Performed by 'The Composers' Orchestra', Edinburgh.
