Anyway, as far as rave legends go, you won’t find many higher up the list than Mark Archer. Founding member of Bizarre Inc, one half of Nexus 21 and Altern8, and also recorded solo under a plethora of monikers such as DJ Nex, Trackman, Mark II, and Slo Moshun… Mark is quite simply one of the most important and influential dance music producers of the last two decades.
Still writing and DJing out across the globe, everything from jacking acid, classic techno, funk, hardcore, hip-hop, and of  course his most notorious speciality genre: Old Skool Rave – Mark Archer is a resident at London’s I Love Acid, and also a regular guest at top music events such as Bangface, BLOC Weekend, Sonar Festival, Fantazia, and many more…

KILLEKILL PODCAST #16: MARK ARCHER (recorded live at Suicide Circus on july, 27th, 2013)

D'MARC CANTU is someone whose music we have been in love with for a long time already. Finally we had him play at our ACID IST FERTIG night at Suicide Circus Berlin on oct 25th, 2013! And here is the recording of his massive set. Enjoy!

D’Marc Cantu started working on what would later be known as JakBeat in late 2000 after being introduced to Ghostly alum JTC. In keeping with the raw sounds that he's known for D’Marc uses analog gear, meticulously gathered samples and crafty production work to further define JakBeat, a sound that encompasses the emotion and simplicity of early electronica but does not limit itself to just one genre. 
In 2005 D’Marc and JTC created 2amfm, taking cues from house, techno, acid, electro and hip-hop, to produce such tracks as Sweatbox and Desolate Cities. D’Marc later teamed up the Traxx and JTC to create X2 a super group of JakBeat aficionados, releasing Time Elevation Rhythm and House not House. As a solo artist he has released a number of singles and EPs such as 2009's Another Number on Crème and 2011's Set Free, hailed as a modern classic, on MOS.
2011 also saw the release of his first album, Fallen, on Crème Organization and just months later MOS would release his second album A New World. Most recently he has taken on remix duties, providing a JakBeat twist to tracks by Alis, G String, Samaan and Ricardo Tobar all in 2013 alone.
His most current project, Some Fantasies are Good, was accompanied by a DVS1 remix and released on the new Montreal based label Forbidden Planet in mid 2013.
With no signs of slowing down he looks to continue to push his unique sound, look for him to release works on Nation, Ansatz, Shaddock, Sequencias and Echovolt in the coming year.

Snuff Crew is a mysterious collective from Germany, founded in 2008. Their sound is mainly influenced by Chicago House, Acid and Oldschool Techno. Since the first 12″on Marco Passarani's label Nature Records, they have released lots of records and remixes on labels like BPitch Control, International Deejay Gigolo Records, Killekill, SCI+TEC, Hour House Is Your Rush, Playhouse and others. They also made remixes for artists like Billie Ray Martin, Hard Ton, Robert Owens, Luke Solomon, Jack The Box, Remute, Franz + Shape and many many more…

Alien­ata is one of the per­sons who decided to live music when she was young.
DJ’ing is her ded­i­ca­tion since 2000. She met so many peo­ple who influ­enced her musi­cal expres­sion. She moved to Canada and worked there with the music scene, then went back to Spain where she was hail­ing from and now lives in Berlin where she started to pro­duce music. Her first remix was released in Autumn 2012 on Snuff Trax.
Pure from her deep­est thoughts and feel­ings her musi­cal style needs more than the words: techno or house. You will always find your­self lost in: Obses­sive Anal­ogy, Microloops com­ing from any source (even includ­ing fridge’s plug), Acid, IDM, Dubby, Dark Disco, end­less Miles Davis songs, Jack­beat, Analogic Deep Tex­tures, Sex­ual Dark Exper­i­men­tal Hybrids, Cosmic rhythm and beau­ti­ful Aquatic Dark Elec­tro tracks.

Alienata - Krake Festival Podcast 2015

This is the recording of me DJ-ing at one of my favourite techno clubs from back in the day. Finally got round to encoding the cassette. For those that don’t know, KNOWLEDGE was a weekly Wednesday night techno haven and I was there religiously almost every week. This was one of the occasional all nighters I played at and I remember getting together about 10 pages of guestlist comprising listeners on Pulse FM and loads of mates (shouts to anyone who was there!!). It was such a good night, the place was rammed and I think Aphex was playing a live set before me. Kicking off with some faster techno and acid of the time and leading up to some full on gabba and distorted 909 kick drums. The mix isn’t perfect but it captures the time. Recorded 7th April 1993.

Elena’s collaboration with Der Zyklus is due to land on Belgian imprint WeMe shortly, in the meantime she showcases her talent and taste for non-linear sounds in this hour-long musical excursion. Striding between genres, we’d all be well advised to keep an eye on her future projects.

"I first met Robert Hood in the early 90s in the London Club Lost. It was his debut in the UK. I was a big fan and follower of his music. Robert was wearing a trilby hat which I thought this was super cool and slightly unusual. After his set I congratulated him on a great job and introduced myself. He was kind and humble and gave me a white label from the M-Plant label which I still have in my record collection to this day.

The music that Robert Hood makes for me is one of the purest forms of Techno there is. He has stuck to his artistic vision and kept his sound true to himself and the roots of Techno / Electronic music. Which lets be honest, these days is an admirable thing to do when so many artists and DJs have thrown all their integrity out the window and sold their soul to the devil just to try and make a quick buck or be a superstar DJ. 

I have only DJed with Robert once before and it was an honour to say the least and I’m very much looking forward to sharing the DJ booth once again with him at Suicide Circus. I have made this tribute mix to celebrate the man the artist and the legend that is Robert Hood. I hope you enjoy!"

In anticipation of Atom™ and Tobias' tour of the US over the next two weekends (July 29 - Stereo Montreal, July 30 - The Bunker New York,  August 5 - Surface Tension SF, and August 6 - Lunar Lodge Colorado), we dug up this set, recorded at The Bunker New York showcase at Anthology at The Works in Detroit on May 25, 2015.  This three hour live and improvised set of hypnotizing mind control music closed out Movement weekend in epic fashion.  The room was still packed when they finished at 6am.

KILLEKILL is proud to present a live recording of an excellent live set of CARL FINLOW to you, recorded at the KILLEKILL ELECTRIX event on 07. October 2011.
To many CARL FINLOW will need no introduction with over almost two decades of pioneering work in electronic music under his belt. With a talent for creating sounds that are ahead of their time and a scarily robot-like ability to communicate with electronic equipment, Carl has created an extensive catalogue of work at the cutting edge of electronic music. And if you don’t believe us just ask the likes of Radiohead, Herbert, Richie Hawtin, Luke Slater, Francois Kevorkian or Andrew Weatherall, they’ll tell you. 
Maybe it is the fact that some of CARL’s major influences are classic artists that he sets his standards so high, citing experimental godfathers Pierre Schaeffer, Varese and Raymond Scott  as his primary sources of inspiration. Or equally it could be artists a little further up the time-line such as Tomita, The White Noise, Yello, Prince, Thomas Dolby and of course Depeche Mode who have helped to set the bar way up high. 
An early interest in making his own music, fostered by his Dad who bought him a Moog at the age of 13, an early mastering of his Sinclair Spectrum computer and a brief stint as keyboard player for John Peel favourites, The Bridewell Taxis, all contributed to bringing Carl to the point where he is today. Perhaps a pivotal moment was the appearance on stage in a full wet suit daubed with florescent paint with the Bridewells, who knows…. it was certainly hot! 
As original visionary and fellow farm-dweller with Ralph Lawson in Leeds’ Rhubarb Triangle throughout the 90s, Carl forged a production partnership with Lawson that took them onto the international stage, remixing Blaze, Fatboy Slim, Jamiroquai, Swag, Swayzak, Josh Wink and Luke Slater. It was during these days of self-confinement in the Farmhouse (making only vital trips across the rhubarb fields to find food) that Random Factor was born and under this guise Carl began recording exclusively for 2020. But not content with one pseudonym, he is the master of disguise, also recording as Silicon Scally, Voice Stealer, IL-EK-TRO, Circle City, Scarletron and more conventionally CARL A FINLOW to give an outlet to the various sides of his musical palette.
Never quite leaving his roots in playing live behind (apart from the wet suit), Carl has developed a superb live set using Ableton Live (indeed, even demonstrating the software at various UK Universities to music students) to take his sounds on the road as Random Factor or Silicon Scally. He has played Japan, USA, Russia, Australia and Europe extensively.

Tadd Mullinix aka JAMES T. COTTON aka J.T.C. is one of our true heroes. When we had our hands on the first records of his on Spectral we immediately fell in love with his daring approach to club music. Raw sketches of great ideas - not clean, not cool, but human and deficient, singular and alive. So, signing this artist for our label is a great honour to us, and we are proud that besides presenting the eclectic SONIC CRIMINAL 12" to you, we can also provide you with this amazing podcast of his.
J.T.C. released 3 albums and several 12”es on labels such as: Spectral, Nation, Creme Organization, Shaddock, M>O>S and many more. As DABRYE he released on Ghostly International and Good Boy records and as SK-1 on Rephlex, Rewind and Planet μ. Tadd Mullinix is also involved in the following projects: 2 AM/FM, The Saturn V, X2 and many more.
Tadd Mullinix, when not producing hip hop as Dabrye, has been leading the way for a new wave of jackin' house, acid house, techno and electro under the aliases James T. Cotton and JTC. Recording for Spectral, TNT, Nation, Creme Organization, Udek, Frigio, M>O>S, Minimal Rome, Frigio, and Relief, collaborating with Todd Osborn, D'marc Cantu and Traxx, and having remixed Orgue Electronique and Depeche Mode - he has received critical acclaim for his raw productions from influentials like Laurent Garnier, Traxx, and Trevor Jackson. And his records have been in rotation thanks to respected DJs like Theo Parrish, Sven Väth, Traxx, Carlos Souffront, Ryan Elliot, Ben Sims, Mick Wills, Serge, and DJ Qu. He's been DJing professionally since the mid-90s, meanwhile drawing influences from Ron Hardy to Jeff Mills. JTC has been touring the world and also playing regularly in his hometown, Ann Arbor, blending seamlessly, unreleased toriginals, techno, disco, and everything in-between.
In 2010, at the University Of Michigan, Tadd performed with Laura Kuhn, director of the John Cage Trust, Cage's "Indeterminacy".
