03 No Guff

Father Christmas (of Experience) / Божић Бата (Искуства) (4.05) 

These songs are based on the work of PhD Dragoslav Dević and PhD Dimitrije Golemović, heads of the Department for Ethnomusicology of the Faculty of Musical Arts in Belgrade. Together with their associates they have been collecting Serbian traditional songs for the last 50 years, visiting more than 1.000 Serbian villages and recording ordinary people singing old songs from Serbian tradition. For decades have these tapes been forgotten in the sound library of the Faculty of Musical Arts, and yet those very recordings became the inspiration for Пасивни Посматрачи Природе (ППП) and their general idea: To create modern music based on the recordings of authentic ordinary people singing and playing old Serbian traditional songs, and to emphasize the true importance of the musical roots of Serbia to the younger audience. ППП will be extremely proud if their view on this tradition and through new musical forms gives a new push to the finalization of the project started by PhD Dević and PhD Golemović so many years ago.


Основа ових песама је сакупљачки рад шефова Катедре за етномузикологију Факултета музичких уметности у Београду професора др Драгослава Девића и др Димитрија Големовића. Они су са својим сарадницима током протеклих 50 година на терену, у више од 1000 српских села бележили звучне записе карактеристичне за различита поднебља ових простора. Ови снимци на магнетофонским тракама су деценијама таворили у фонотеци ФМУ. И управо су баш ти снимци послужили Пасивним Посматрачима Природе као инспирација и, што је још битније - значајан избор материјала за оно што се наметнуло као идеја која се у фазама "крчкала" скоро деценију и по: На основу теренских снимака аутентичних народних певача и свирача створити савремену музичку форму која ће бити пријемчива и млађим генерацијама, али да финални продукт никако не сме да буде пародија традиције,већ да, напротив, апострофира значај музичких корена ових простора. ППП ће бити изузетно поносни ако њихово виђење 
традиције кроз нову музику и аранжмане, бар мало утиче да пројекат који су започели професори Девић и Големовић коначно буде заокружен.
