For our latest edition of the Broken Audio Podcast, we return ‘in house’ to introduce the first of two new artists now signed exclusively to Broken Audio Recordings.

Silvio Perano & Paul Parish are Paramount, a musical duo based in Hertfordshire UK. Having already cut their teeth with a number of excellent releases on labels such as Fokuz, Celsius, Influenza Media, and Liquid Tones, the guys were introduced to us by Max Bipolar in December 2013… Four demo tracks later and we knew Paramount had the all the tools necessary to make great music and follow a path similar to many others that started their successful production careers with us.

Equally at home producing music to chill or hard beats to kill; Paramount’s strength lies in their versatility to create tracks of equal skill no matter what the style. Their live mix is a simple expansion of that philosophy, drawing from the deepest of liquid rollers through to the hardest of gully workouts and everything in between, including a number of their own works.

Having started my bi-monthly mixtapes back in 2012, 2020 marks the NINTH year of my mixtape series! I started pushing mixtapes NINE YEARS ago, that's kinda madness! What a journey these nine years have been.

To the people who have been listening since day dot, to the people who have only just started listening and everyone in between thank you! My mixtape's are my 80 minute journey of music, my way to explore, express and share my passion. From all sub genres of house music to my outro's which usually go deep and downtempo, another kind of music I listen to religiously.

This mix contains 18 tracks that I'm feeling and as always from a variety of genres. I'm rinsing some of these bangers on the dance-floor right now and the others I'm just absolutely in love with.

Searching for the music and then making them literally takes me days and days but mixtape making is something I really love to do. I hope you enjoy them as much as I love making them!

I guess I'd have to describe myself more as a bedroom DJ than one who plays out. I'm into all genres of house but  mostly play progressive but containing elements of tribal, techy, slightly vocal/ soulful, fresh, chunky  pumping.. sometimes even electro.
My first go behind the decks was in 2003 using my girlfriend's 1210's. At that time my biggest influences had come from going out clubbing in places such as Trade, DTPM and Fiction to name a few. So back then I was buying and playing tunes by  DJ's/ Labels such as BK, Ian M, Karim Do Not Bend Records  Kaktia, Spinball, Recharge - hard house anfd not most trance.  After a couple of years of murdering many a good hard house tune I started wanting to play something different. 

We'd started going to a club in London called French Kiss which was run and owned by the infamous "French Doris". She had a host of talented female DJ's playing for her including Lisa German, EJ Doubell and Queen Maxine.. The music policy was underground and sexy tribal progressive house and I loved it! She even included male guest DJ's of which one of them was Gonzalo. A friend of mine PJay probably had the biggest influence over me. He is always bang up to date with his music and all of his mixes are great. PJay gave us a mix by Paul Heron and after listening to that and PJay's mixes as well as going out to Fire and I never bought hard house tune again.

I played out for the first time in 2006 in the main dance tent at Cambridge's gay friendly outdoor event called Pink Festival. I've played out a few other times since but couldn't commit to anything regular.  Now spinning tunes is mostly done at home for the enjoyment of it. I aim to put a CD together every now and then rather than trying to play out. But I shall never say never to ever playing out again.

Favourite DJ's :- Sarah Griffin (Internet DJ), PJay,  Paul Heron, Gonzalo and Sharp Boys. However there are many other great DJ's who i enjoy and respect. 
Other music I like:- Massive Attack, Morcheeba and Zero 7, Stanton Warriors, Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, La Roux and my most favourite
 P!NK !
