The first remix I'm proud enough to release to the public is also my personal favorite song from the 1980s.  It's just been bass-boosted and sped up for a new generation to enjoy.

Strictly Progressive 010 - The Road to Tulum

Melodic Techno is Trance 2.0, and this mashup proves that point.  Henri Bergmann + Monophase's masterpiece "Chimera" just goes perfectly with Armin's classic "Not Giving Up On Love", to the point that people often think this is a remix rather than an acapella drop with some FX and compression slapped on the vocal.

Strictly Progressive 013 - Sunset Melodic Vol. 2

The music I like to play is also popular with canines because my dog often runs to me, full of excitement, trying to "dance" along.  This is a recurring (and cute) phenomenon that occurs regardless of whether I'm mixing stuff on my Pioneer setup or working on Ableton Live via PC + monitors: he always wants to "dance".  

It's probably just his manipulative way of getting belly rubs from me, but I am positive that if he had opposable thumbs, he would be a killer DJ, and this would be his DJ set rather than mine.  This one's a bit more of a mixture of melodic techno, tech house, and bass house: in other words, I'm trying for the AETERNA / Experts Only / Maccabi House vibe that Meduza / John Summit / Adam Ten & Mita Gami are respectively cultivating of late.

Strictly Progressive 014 - Doggo Dance Party

Melodic techno, as a genre, is in constant transition.  In just 5 years, we've gone from the hypnotic and calmer Afterlife sound to the Afterlife "melodic banger" sound that is basically Trance 2.0 / EDM.  Now, we are shifting from the Afterlife / Trance 2.0 sound into something harder-hitting, fresher, and (dare I say) even better.  Mind Against and their label "HABITAT" are at the forefront, as is Massano and his label "Simulate".  And then you have the Meduza / GENESI sound flirting with tech house, and the Brazilians doing something even better.

This mixtape is inspired by that newer vibe and is made for an extra loud/ratchet Golden Hour once the sunset hits the horizon.  I think it's the hardest hitting mixtape I've ever put together, at least until Mind Against shows up near the end with some chilled out vibes (that all turn into bangers).
