The seeds for this exciting collaboration between Nick Warren and Guy Mantzur were sown a long time ago during snatched conversations at airport terminals, online and at various shows around the world. But, their hectic schedules has meant that patience has been a necessary virtue when it came to actually finding time to work together on this new project. However, the final product – “Sad Robot” – for John Digweed’s Bedrock label has definitely been worth the wait!

This sparkling gem of a track pushes all the right buttons: a low-slung, percussive groove backbone, peppered with twisted vocal snippets and an ebb and flow of euphoric attitude that only comes from years of experience of rocking the best dancefloors around the world week in week out. With added excitement in the form of an energetic, throbbing monster of a remix by Musumeci (aka Sicilian DJ/Producer Mauro Di Martino) – this new package from Bedrock is set to fly.

Nick Warren has just recently returned from another successful tour of South America, and is currently working with production partner Jody Wisternoff on a new Way Out West album. Meanwhile, Guy Mantzur has forthcoming releases lined up on Kompakt and Lost & Found. This first meeting of musical minds for Bedrock has proved such a creative success, we can only hope they find time for more collaborations like this in the future.

For our 50th release, Modern Agenda is pleased to welcome Hacobb to the label with this four track EP called Dialogues. Aptly named, our connection with Hacobb started on the right foot through a face-to-face meeting in Athens a few months ago. We had already signed this Ep but had the chance to meet its maker too! We would love to tell you more but Hacobb is still pretty elusive, we couldn’t even find his bio. He is Scottish Greek and a talented producer, that is what we know for sure. 

The Dialogues EP is made up of four solid melodic dreamy and tracks that are introspective and creative. The cadence varies along with each track’s intensity, making this an EP of super tunes to fit any set at any hour. A little lighter than some of our releases, this one will take you on a soundscape journey from the second you press play.

Rauwdouwer is a serious slab of percussive tinged hypnotic techno that builds and growls along with its serious hook that will knock seven spots off any underground dance floor worth its salt. We don&#8217;t need to say much more, we&#8217;ll let the track speak for itself. 
Who better to remix Rauwdouwer than the amazing techno lord Christian Smith, who injects his own subtle touches, respectfully utilising the originals nasty riff, yet adding more tension and big synths to add to the mix.

The latest selection of tracks from Lopezhouse, the duo consisting of David Lopez and Carlos Cruz from La Mancha, Spain, have been a steadfast fixture in John Digweeds DJ sets for months now, their unique creativity always getting huge crowd responses everywhere around the globe. The duos extraordinary ability to amaze with their inimitable electronic compositions is second to none.

Surfing those uncharted sound waves, Something Is Happening is an utterly hypnotic 12-minute throbbing futuristic journey, that constantly surprises and delights with twists galore. The Spanish duos uniquely esoteric, organic attitude also shines bright throughout their lunar landing inspired Strange Music From Dark Side Moon. Lopezhouse first came to the attention of Bedrock fans when John Digweed included Guy Js excellent dub remix of Crosses & Angels on his Live in Brooklyn opus. Their debut November Clouds EP followed in the summer of 2017 and was met with much critical acclaim. Since then, they have carefully navigated their ever-rising popularity and gained huge respect with further excellent releases on the likes of Exploited, Plattenbank, Sincopat, Suara and Vondreib, before returning to Bedrock to conclude a highly successful 2019. Lopezhouse are most definitely artists to watch into the future.

Matthias Meyer and a trio label of debutants make up the fourth instalment of the much-loved ‘Watergate Affairs’ series.
 
Initiated in 2016, the series assembles a collection of top-quality tracks that otherwise could not fit into Watergate’s busy release schedule, such is the strong pool of music the label draws from.

Emerging Dutch producer Budakid joins the label with ‘Orrery’, after previously making an impact with cuts on Last Night On Earth, Einmusika and Lost & Found. The track’s dreamy soundscapes and otherworldly energy make for a transcendental mood maker. Matthias Meyer is suitably superb with ‘Interlude’, as delicate strings and a muffled melody line gently wash against a shore of sparse beats. Henri Bergmann & Julian Wassermann link for ‘Maenad’, as punchy grooves bring the EP into peak-time territory as a multi-layered chord pattern hits with a satisfying headrush. Danish artist Nandu rounds out the package with ‘My Mystery Is A Mystery’. It’s the kind of succulent end-of-nighter every set needs as uplifting pads, stirring keys and a buttery bassline glide together in sweet unison.
