NYC underground powerhouse Joeski serves up more superb house sounds on his own Maya Records, this time featuring Aaron Burnett.

Brooklyn Horn Hustle feat. Aaron Burnett is a low slung groove with elastic bass and patty-starting brass. The trumpet plays nimble and conversational melodies with a hint of jazzy Latin flair while the drums roll on down low. Organic percussion and atmospheric vocals all add further spice to what is a charming new sound.

Joeski leads from the front once more with this latest jam.

PREMIERE: Circulation - Bad Luck (Original Mix) [Last Night On Earth]

As Circulation, Paul Davis was last on this label back in February with the potent 'Flight' and 'New Way.' They were the latest missives from an accomplished producer who has been part of the underground for a quarter of a century. In the early days, he helped shape the early UK tech house scene in the 90s and 00s, but he also innovated with disco and funk samples and dropped plenty of vital techno. Last Night on Earth founder Sasha has always been a fan, which is why he taps up Davis for two more fantastic tracks here.

'Bad Luck' shows another side to the Circulation sound, one filled with melodic lushness and introverted emotions. The deft melodies and wispy pads all layer up over a sleek groove and fizzing static to make for a tender electronic trip with brilliant sound design and a journeying sense of narrative.

'Flux' is just as special, this time with nimble chords moving about the mix next to well-treated vocal fragments and angelic, wordless hooks that bring a heavenly feel. The drums are deep, and the synth craft is again standout to make for a rich and immersive track.

San Diego born, the community of the dance floor surrounded me at a younger age.
It was normal for house parties to have decks at the command of the music selection. It took me a year or two of observing  the rekordbox patterns until finally I purchased my own controller in the Spring of 2017. 

From here, I was hooked. To be a good DJ you of course need skills, but what I have learned over the last 8 years is that if you want to be a respected DJ, you need tracks. My knowledge of artists stemmed from attending festivals and shows to expand my horizons in the various sub genres of dance music. I enjoy them all and keep an open mind! However, I realized there were simply too many DJs and labels to keep track of new music. I hated the feeling of coming across a banger track and realizing it was released months ago. I wished there was a page that I could follow to give me release updates. In the Summer of 2020, H&TR was born. 

I am now addicted to digging deeper and deeper into the underground to discover every new release across house and techno, and have been doing it for over 150 weeks straight now. I am committed to this mission not only for myself and DJ ability, but I have a passion for sharing good music with others. I love introducing a new artist to a friend that I think they would enjoy. Not just this, but what an incredible feeling it is to “ID” a track when others send me a video. Hence a friend coining me the name “DavID”
